Recommendation? Which one would you choose and why. PICTURES ADDED!!

So I'm going to have some extra steel too!! So what would you do?? A.couple of scalpels or kiridashi blades???

I agree with the others about rounding the corners. Ergos are no less important than a good blade shape and cross section. I hope you share the finished product once it’s done. :)

You gotta show the pics asap you get ‘em, this waiting has sure aroused more interest/anxiety:p:D:cool:

I'm gonna have 5\32x3\4" x9" left over. One of each would be nice but won't work.. One.or the other!!

Now that I see the maker’s mark I see why you’re excited. :)

I suppose you’ve already chosen the blade shape, but I would go with the top one. Why? That blade shape has proven to be damned useful to me, and it’s not yet another boring assed drop point.

I've always loved his work. I was tempted to skip my want and just grab one that he has for sale on the makers sale threads.. Glad I didn't though. Love Damasteel and its his first go with it too!

I prefer a drop point for most work. The top knife would be okay, but not the bottom. As noted the butt in your design is poorly thought out and you will regret it if you truly use the knife. I will point out that I am a bit biased, as I feel Bob Loveless designed the perfect 4" drop point 70 years ago. You might want to look it up, as almost every major knife maker (factory and custom) has made knives to that pattern.

Let me add that, if you're thinking this is going to be your EDC, and you're not really rural, it's too big.

Top one, but grind the pointy butt Off, even with the scales and use peened tubes instead of pins.......would look Clean, and timeless.
