I just realized i have a healthy collection of SAK's, but to be honest, i don't use as many of them as i thought i would, there's 3-4 SAK's that get EDC'd, and of those, two that see serious, everyday use....

my collection consists of (small to large size, ascending order)
Signature Lite (2)
Bantam
Alox Soldier
Tinker
Climber
Explorer
Huntsman
CyberTool 34
SwissChamp (2)
111mm locking Hunter
One Handed Trekker
SwissTool

of that list, i use the following regularly;

Weekdays;
CyberTool 34 (daily use, taking apart PowerBooks and iBooks)
Alox Soldier
Bantam
SwissTool (when i need pliers stonger than the CyberTool's)

Weekends;
SwissChamp
One Handed Trekker
Bantam

(the Bantam's always with me even if i don't use it, it's so slim and light that i forget i'm carrying it....)

looks like i should start changing up my EDC a little....
today i'll leave the Soldier home and carry the Explorer as a companion to the CyberTool, the magnifier and inline phillips will come in handy as companions to the CyberTool (some screws i encounter are too big for the CyberTool's drivers)

Out of my ten SAKs, I carry a Wenger Teton the most. I bought the Teton after I did a careful evaluation of the SAKs that I carry and the tools that I use. My favorite SAK to carry had been a Vic Recruit II. I really like how the 84mm Vics settle into my pocket. However, I was also carrying a Tinker frequently because of the phillips and awl. I never carried my Deluxe Tinker due to its large size, but I found myself reaching for it a lot at home because of its scissors. I started looking for a SAK the size of my Recruit II but with scissors, a phillips and an awl. The Teton was the best match.

If I'm going camping, I switch to a OHT for its ample blade and saw.

Here's what I have:

2 - Victorinox Climbers
3 - Victorinox Super Tinker
1 - Victorinox Spartan Plus
1 - Victorinox '03 Soldier
1 - Victorinox One Handed Trekker
1 - Victorinox Huntsman

What gets used the most:

Victorinox Huntsman. I use it daily.

My EDC SAKs are:
1) Director
2) Senior Mechanic (a custom mod - kind of like a Scientist with pliers added)

At the moment I'm on the road, so I am using spare SAKs that I mailed to the hotel I'd be staying at:
1) Executive
2) Scientist

I have a fair number of SAKs now, mostly ones with magnifiers, which is my SAK collecting focus.

I only have two SAK's:( . But my Victorinox Camper goes everywhere with me. It's even replaced my BM Mini Grip as my EDC.

Mainly a climber these days and a minichamp if I am going out!

Alox Bantam, with me every day. Like MacTech said, it's so slim I don't even notice it.

My Midnite MiniChamp II. I never leave home without it. Endlessly useful. Totally nonthreatening.

You know, I suppose technically I should mention that one too... Mine is a constant companion for the Bantam. Those scissors have been my nail clippers for the last two years.

I've grabbed so many SAKs and tools over the years, I think the list of ones I don't have has gotten shorter than the list of ones I don't.

So which SAKs get the most use?

  • Vic Midnite Manager, mostly because it's on my keychain. That's gonna change, because just this week I realized I rarely use the light (I have a Photon Freedom-To-The-Max on the keychain) or the pen (I usually have a Fisher Bullet or Cap-O-Matic on me) or the bottle opener/phillips, so I replaced it with the mucho smaller and lighter Vic Classic Alox; so far I haven't missed the Manager a bit.

  • Vic CyberTool Lite, because I often EDC it in lieu of a Leatherman or similar.

  • Wenger Standard Issue, because it's in my EDC slipjoint rotation.

  • Vic Executive, just because it packs so much utility into such a small corporate-friendly package.

EDIT: Whoops, I thought you were just asking about SAKs! Lemme add my tools...

As for pliers-type multitools:

  • Leatherman Charge Ti, by a large margin. I carry it in the LM leather sheath with an extra strip of bits, a Peak Matterhorn 1xAAA 3xLED light and a Mini Sharpie. That's my EDC tool about 80% of the time.

  • Leatherman Wave (original non-locking), when I feel like going lighter than the Charge + a locking folder. It ain't the latest and greatest anymore, but it's still a very capable tool, and with the one-hand open knife blades, a decent substitute for a folder, too.

  • Leatherman PST II. Someone posted a while back, asking if anyone still carried an original Leatherman Tool, which got me thinking of trying it; I was loathe to give up scissors and a diamond file, so I dug out the PST II and gave it a whirl for a week, and found that it along with a decent knife was about all I need 95% of the time. Sometimes the oldies are still the goodies!

  • Vic SwissTool Spirit, the newest addition to the regular rotation. I love the ratchet wrench and bits, but rarely have a need for them, so I generally carry the Spirit by itself in the sheath from my old Wave.

Wenger Handyman. Locking screwdriver and a useful assortment of tools.

My Gerber Pro-Scout.
It probably gets the most useage because it is in the kitchen and saves me a trip to the toolbox in the garage, or to the basement where I have some other tools.
And the flick-of-the-wrist pliers are very handy.

I have a bunch of SAKs and multitools, but the one that by far sees the most use is my EDC, a Victorinox Cyber Tool 41.

Juice S2 I would say, I like it as it is so small. The second would be economy Bantam as it is sheeple friendly. I modded the comi tool to fit #2 phillips screws so it is even more usefull.
