Which SAK/Multi in your collection sees the most use?

Tim, would you tell me who did the custom job for you? I'd be
interested in looking into it myself. Thanks Tim.

At least one of them, the Vic, is a custom job. I'm not sure about the Wenger, since I don't know Wengers very well.

Here's a photo of my (similar) custom Vic SAK, which I call a "Senior Mechanic"!

My three favs are the Huntsman in ReaL Tree which I carry in a Vic sheath with the sharpener when fishing along with a L'Man Wave in my tackle bos but for pocket carry I still like the Wenger Std Issue Alox with a Lanyard attached or the venerable Vic Electricians Alox.....its always hard to choose when I have such great choices to carry!

Between the ages of 12 and my late 20's, my Vic Huntsman was my only knife and saw daily use. Now it is semi-retired in a drawer waiting for my daughter to get old enough for it.

In the past few years, I've accumulated an old LM Supertool, an old Wave, a Swisstool, a Swisstool Spirit, a Vic 111mm Outrider, a Kershaw Vapor and a Spyderco Native.

Lately, I'd say that my Vic Spirit gets the most edc time and use, sometimes paired with the Native. The Outrider (basically a locking Huntsman) comes in second. The Swisstool mostly stays with my motorcycle, the Supertool in the van, the Vapor in the car, and the Wave in my briefcase.

Victorinox Hiker....in Aussie it's called a "Worker"....

It's basically a Tinker, but with a wood saw

LM Kick, cause I carry and abuse it at work. Its got all the tools I actually have use for, a. Its cheap and sturdy, and clips on my pocket.

The Leatherman Core gets drawn dozens of times a day at work. I carry the Surge on my days off, but it doesn't get anywhere near the same use.;)

My Victorinox Manager (I) seems to get the most use in frequency; cutting paper, snipping stray threads, nail/skin trimming, toothpicking, bottle opening; it gets used several times a day. My LM Wave gets the most use in terms of tool-like use (screwdriving, prying, gripping, etc.) which happens several times a week.

My soldier is my most carried and used sak. Just the right amount of tool and bulk, in a rugged package. But the classic on my keyring gets used every day. The key ring hangs from a carabiner on my belt loop, and that puts the classic right there.

MY most used is my Winchester multi tiool. Dont laugh. Its pliers just rock. It was also given to me by my recently deceased (5/28/06) wife on our first Christmas together 3 years ago. I have beat the hell out of it and it still functions plus the bit attatchments are the most handy thing ever. I have 12 different bits that I can use and do use often like T-20 etc. The actual knife blade on it is pretty sad in the edge retention department though. I always have my EDC knife in my right pocket for cutting things (CRKT M16 AUS 118 limited). I will carry this tool till I die or it does. The sheath that came with it was tore up pretty bad and my wife sewed it back together with Kevlar 115 lb fishing line and then coated in epoxy so it is hard like Kydex but still looks like canvas. I have a leatherman that is in my tacklebox I use when out on the boat so I dont have to worry about losing my winchester in the water if I accidently drop it or flip the boat. I have a SAK on my keychain as well that has been used many a times that I was not allowed to carry my big knives.I suggest anyone check out the winchesters for a decent multiool to have around the house or carry as a beater. They are only $10 at walmart. I love mine for multiple reasons.

I have carried a Vic Spartan, but in resent years changed over to the Vic Tinker and have now switched to the small Vic Tinker. It does not take up too much room in my pocket and it has all the tools needed in a pinch. If I need more I will go to the tool box to get it. I also have a Vic Classic on my key ring.

Victorinox are tough. My Vic Spartan of over twenty years is still as good as when I got it, but as I aged, the cork screw was not as needed as a good phillips screw driver. The steel on all is second to none in the edge holding department. I have used the reground small blade for carving, it works great. The absence of the cork screw, replaced by a phillips screw driver is also a much smoother handle. You just have to remove the ring and ring holder to complete the smoother handle which makes using the Tinker very pleasant and easy on the hand holding it.

I have also had one of those black beauties in my shaving kit for years, never failed me and has been so handy.
Its funny though I never edc it just leave it in the kit in case I do forget what I usually carry in my pocket and belt esp when I am travelling.

When I'm inside the house, but not in my room, I have a Tinker that I carry in my pocket that sees a lot of use. In my room, I use my trust SwissChamp quite a bit. Outside of the house, I tend to use my Leatherman Super Tool.

For the past three years its either been an Explorer with a Emerson Mini Commander or Benchmade 722.....or......a Soldier and Classic SD with a Emerson Mini Commander or Benchmade 722. Before that, I carried a Tinker while doing industrial electronics troubleshooting...it was a beater with econo scales. For leisure, I carried a Super Tinker. I'm doing IT work on my own now so the Explorer was needed with the inline Phillips implement for computer work and the carry combo with the Soldier is for leisure time.
