Which Spike Should I get?

And the award for "best random, old thread dug up for the day" goes to....

I never understood why people have such a reaction when someone replies to an older thread. Someone tell me the rules. When is a thread too old, and when is it better to start a new thread? :jerkit:

If you haven't pulled the trigger yet, you might consider the CS Braveheart:

Steel is OK AUS-8, and the profile should be a better slicer, general-use blade, etc.

The Braveheart is somewhat less weapon-like than the spikes, but still might be classified by LEOs as a 'dirk', which are forbotten here in TX.
I like the dirkishness of it tho'...but then I have a thing for boot-knives, even if they are probably useless and illegal to carry here.

My third or fourth, perhaps, knife was a Talon Spike.
Not bad, but sort of strange. The handles are very much on the lean side.
Just got around to buying a normal Spike, and holy crap, out of the box it was the sharpest knife i've ever had.
I loved cutting paper with it, but the moment i tried to touch it up with my Fällkniven DC-3 stone (ceramic side), it went as dull as this no name chinese crap bowie i bought as my second knife.
Quite perplexing.
I have a so-so edge on it right now.
So, the honorary title of 'Sharpest knife in the house' goes back to my red handled carbon Mora.
Slicing some paper with it right now

I have this knife and did a little review on it. You can check it out here if you want - http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=624255

I've a tokyo spike, got it real cheap, it's kind of silly to make a blade that small almost a quarter inch thick, the 420 is alright, but all I do with mine is throw it at trees in the back yard, I sharpen it real carefully with a ceramic rod, you could use a stone, but with the blade angle, you better have a buffing wheel..G.

I wonder if there will ever be a INFI Spike??
Better head over to the Busse Forum>>>>.
