That is a forced patina on the non stainless steel M4 blade.

I'm excited to see what Sprints that Spyderco is going to offer for the PM3. Love the size/shape of the new one, for me the PM2 is a great knife but a little larger than what I want to carry on an everyday purpose.

I love the PM2 but this is everything that's great about it in a smaller package. Putting a lynch clip on it makes it that much better. I'm excited for the sprints to start coming too!
