Which Spyderco are you carrying today?

Put away my Extrema Ratio BF2-CD and pocketed a standard G10 S30V Spyderco Manix2 XL, after reading/responding to some chat about it in another thread in this sub-forum.

The blade's the right length but at 2" wide when closed it's a tight fit in my front pocket w/the wallet that I also carry there.

However, I'd forgotten how much I liked to flick it open using the lock release technique. Locks up perfectly almost every time which is better than when I use the technique w/compression lock Spyders.

In terms of details, I like the polished clip (so that I don't have to worry about clip wear) and the interesting rippling (bumps?) along the top and bottom of the liner which improve the grip at the top near the blade jimping and along the bottom towards the rear of the grip, which are both interesting and functional.

Don't think I'll be carrying it long but it's definitely staying in my collection w/the regular Manix2 that I bought to pair w/it.

The Manix2 XL didn't last long in my pocket. Replaced today it w/an even bigger Farid K2 . . . just because I could. LOL! ;)

With a 4.5" long blade and at 10" long overall, the K2 is much bigger than the XL but the K2 is also thinner (only 3/8" thick) and narrower (1 3/4" wide) than the XL. So, it is much easier to carry in the pocket w/my wallet even though it is a much larger knife than the XL.

Other than its overall size, the other things I like about the K2 are the titanium construction, the Reeve integral lock and the chrome clip (w/a single screw attachment point that I think I've only also seen on a Drunken).

Don't know why you'd even consider a Slysz Bowie when you can own a K2 for less.

proper break in on a miserable snowy/rainy/windy day.

Proper indeed. Feet up on an Amazing Grateful coffee table, cuppa, relaxing & waiting for the light to turn green :-) Most Excellent

It's the same story the crow told me, it's the only one he knows...

I've got some Uncle John's Band going through my 'brain radio' as I type this :-)

I live in a silver mine and I call it beggars tomb, I got me a violin and I beg you call the tune...

Love that table!

Also - what kind of .22 is that in the other post?

u.w.

Hah
Thanks man.
The .22 is a 10/22.
A few add ons from stock.
It came from my father.
Not sure if he built it or bought it this way.
The table one of my favorite things.
It was the center of my living room as a younger man.
These days the wife figures it’s best fit is in the basement.
;)
