Which Spydie?

Thanks but it isn't really a safety issue that is pushing me away from liner locks, frame locks, lock backs, etc. It is more the fun factor. I carried a BM710 (first production knife to have an Axis lock) for 16 years. It is a lot of fun to flip closed. It is also really handy. There have been plenty of times I had work in one hand and my knife in the other - cut, close, pocket, keep on truckin. The whole "path of the blade" was so it could be flipped closed, with less adjustment of grip.

I have a delica and that has a fantastic fidget factor!
You can easily manipulate play with one hand. Food for thought, I have a hard time putting that knife away.

The manix 2 also is very fun knife to use and fidget with.
A little larger than you asked for yet is a favorite in my collection.
I'm not sure your daughters fingers would be strong enough for the lock though.

How you find a good match.

Anything other than a Para 3 is just wrong.

I'm joking, put down the pitch forks! But yes, the Para 3 is my suggestion.

Shrug. You can have your opinion, I'll have mine.

They were welded closed for the safety of the trash collection people/dump customers.

Their actions made it impossible for me to associate with them in any way. Period. You don't like that I disappeared them from my life, so you're shitting on me. Do not care.

Every now and then I will see a Benchmade design that I like. I will watch some videos, check out some threads.
But, every single time, I end up passing on the knife for their political stance.

I'm more than happy with my Spydies.

Ok, could use some suggestions.

I am not trying to decide between the Para Mlitary 2 and the Yojumbo. That was actually a simple decision - I am getting BOTH (only solution that makes sense). I check the Spyderco website 5 or 6 times per day, waiting for them to be in stock. The satin blade Yojumbo was in stock for ONE day. I almost pulled the trigger but am wating for the DLC.

The decision I am struggling with is on the 3rd knife :D

My daughter has been using her Izula, responsibly, which was the prerequisite for a folder. Well, that and some pants with pockets. What is up with the fake pockets on little girl's jeans?!?!

I am looking for - Blade lenght of 3" or less, compression lock, and pink scales. I wouldn't be opposed to buying the right knife, with the wrong scales, and buying custom scales for it. Unfortunately, it seems to be tricky finding some basic pink G10 or Micarta scales..... even for a PM3 (which was one idea).

Oh, also wouldn't be too opposed to the ball bearing lock. It just has to be fidget friendly and not require crossing the path of the blade to unlock.

I have considered the Hogue Deka (yea, a hair over the 3" mark) but would like to stick to Spyderco. Plus, while the Red Lava Gmascus is close, it ain't pink.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
My wife loves her Dragonfly because it fits into her non-existent pockets and tiny purse. It is out in pink, now. The Delica, designed with women in mind, is about to come out in pink, too.

What political stance is that? Could you link me to their statements?

You can do your own research, I'm sure.
I did. Here is Benchmade spokesperson Matt Elliot.

“Benchmade from the beginning has been fully in support of Second Amendment rights. That's not just a Benchmade thing as a brand; it's a cultural thing as an organization. I can't speak to every single person in the business but I myself, I'm a big supporter. I happen to be a life member of the NRA. I'm not alone in that at Benchmade, and moreover, I also think it's important to make the point that it's about carry for us and people's right to carry state to state. And that isn't just about guns for us. At the end of the day, we're a knife company.”

I read all that too.

Actions.

The big deal for me was the fact that Benchmade contributes financially to liberal/anti 2A politicians.

I just looked this up and it surprised me. The contributions were below 20k for 2020 but still ever since 2010 it’s been the Democrat party they contribute to. It’s ironic because so many gun shops/sporting good stores have their knives for sale so I’d imagine it wouldn’t be in their financial interest to contribute to that side of the isle.
