5/16 cause I just love the weight and feel of the blade. I like the thinner one too I am not going to lie. But if I had to chose one it would be the thicker one. Just seems the thicker blade has more power. I know that bull, but I love the fat blade.

5/16....I have a SHE2 on order but love the look of the FSH...I don't have any fusion handles yet either....I'm still on the fence

Well now I'm thinking I should try out the 3/16 blade :confused::eek::eek::):)

The FAT one, i have few .32 ASH-1s and love how the handle feels.... but than i might just have Xlarge mittens lol

Won't regret it. I promise.

So what you are saying,, is "No regrets?" ;)

Ive never heard anyone say "I regret buying this Busse", but all the time I hear "I REALLY regret not grabbing that Busse while I could"
Hmm,, that could be a good signature..

I have a question regarding blade thickness Im hoping someone can help me with and this thread seems to be the one to ask it in.

Its about the grind angle. With 2 blades of the same design but different thickness. Do they grind both at the same angle? Does the grind line show up lower on the blade height on the thinner blade or do they grind the thinner blade with a longer grind to make the grind line in the same place for both thicknesses?

I have always been partial to full height flat grind to get the tallest angle for the edge. The saber grind on 2 different thicknesses confuses me as to which one has a taller grind. And its hard to tell from the pics.

Ordered a fatty. Man, I was going to pass on this but my RW came and I was sorely disappointed. Does not feel good in my hand so ordered the FSH as a replacement.

I broke down ordered the 5/16 :D....couldn't pass on that thickness did a little research seems the heavy ordenance FSH is the same 5/16 or .31..couldn't pass that up in BG especially with that fusion handle.... Just like those thick blades.... feels better in the hand to me and should chop and split like a beast.

The,thicker blade is my choice. It is too bad we can't afford to pick this one up.

Guess I will have to be satisfied with the AWESOME WTF!!!!!! And the truly useful and awesome in its own right, "TRAIL SCALPEL"!

Still these knives are truly amazingly cool!

I do NOT understand the fascination with fat blades....

Me neither. I'd go for the 3/16 of I were going to order one.

And I still might,. But I don't know what this one would do that a dozen other Busses I already have wouldn't do as well.

I think the thickness should fit with the size of the knife. For me depending on the knife .22,.25,.28,.32 or even .36 is perfect just depending on the knife.

If I get one, it will be 3/16", it seems the folks arguing thicker to be a bigger chopper forget that most of that extra thickness goes into the handle where nothing is ground off for a primary bevel. ;) In my experience after using at least 50 different designs now it seems that the thicker the Busse the harder it is to get it to bite deep when chopping, yet the thin ones still slice and chop just fine. You aren't going to break a thin one any more than you've heard of busted AK's.
