Which Ti Framelock??

You can't beat a Sebenza of any size or shape.

The latest issue of Tactical Knives has a nice writeup of the Burke Rockstar; it was reviewed very favorably (although in all honesty I can't remind a single article in that particular magazine NOT being favorable) and has some great color photographs. Nice pictures here too, by the way. Maybe the article will offer you something to drool over till you get it in the mail! :)

I'm thinking about an Alias myself right now, but enjoying a Kershaw Bump in S30V with titanium frame lock. Might be worth a look for you - comparable in price to the Alias, less than the others.

Having "talked" (Emails) to DaveReb many times, the last suggestion is a good one. The Ti Bump is not as big as the Spec Bump. At about 4.5" closed, it's a good size. I also agree with previous posters in stating that since Dave wasn't happy (For one reason or another) with the small Seb, Alias I, or PT, then maybe it would be a good idea to get a different knife.

However, IIRC, the problem with the PT for Dave, was that he had problems getting it sharp. Maybe your sharpening skills are better & you ought to give a PT another try. I think the issues with the Seb & the Alias was their thumb-studs weren't comfortable, but maybe I'm wrong about that.

The Burke Rockstar sure looks nice, but man that is a wide knife. If you like Spydercos (& I believe you do), then maybe a Buck/Mayo TNT would be the way to go, since that has an oblong thumb-hole to open with. However, the Ti Bump is kind of similar to the Ti Cyclone, but is a little larger, hence probably more comfortable to handle.

Of course, I'm just giving my subjectiive opinion, which really doesn't mean much since I believe Dave already bought a small classic micarta Seb (Can't blame him, I have one myself) & sounds like he'll try to get the Rockstar later.

Guess I'll just have to use the black paint up on my SIG-SAS. Now realize that I've only handled the larger Burke's. How thick is the tip on the Rockstar? Also -do really think the Buck/Mayo TNT is one of the most under rated knives out right now - yes - they are expensive relative to the "average" Buck folder - but for what they actually sell for - a simply shockingly fine knife. Pictures do not do this knife justice ( blade grind/shape in particular).Dave -try and find one of these to handle- they are something special.Down side - yer likely develop lust for a custom Mayo.

Well, I did get a new small micarta Sebe, it arrived today! This is my third small Sebe, my first was a 3-inline, and it was just to "pretty" for me to use at work, so i traded or sold it..I can't remember which. My second was just a plain ole regular Sebe which I traded for a Mnandi, since at the time I had my PT which was getting most of the carry time. Anyways I decided to get a small classic Micarta, and this seems like the "one". i really like the Micarta and the grip it gives me. Plus the action on this one is the best of the bunch I have owned.
I have been eyeballing the Mayo's, and I am considering a Waimea or a TNT, and yeah I still like Rockstar. Like CL01 said, it sure looks like a "wide" knife and it sure does! That has what has been keeping me from pulling the trigger. If it is as wide as a Mini Manix, I won't like it or carry it. What I do like about it is the blade length...I really like to keep my blade lengths between 2.75" to3.25" or less...and the Rockstar fits the Bill. Also the pics with it, and the Mini Cyclone are pretty close and my ex-Cyclone was pretty comfortable to carry. I wish i could handle one before I buy:mad:

Anyways I'm getting aquainted with my new Sebe..but I'm still shopping for another Ti framelock, I'll check ut the Ti bump...it maybe time for a custom:eek:
