Which two spydies should I buy?

Thanks for the input so far. I think the delica is for sure at this point and I need to decide between the pm2 and military, but I'm leaning towards the pm2, I've had some 4" blades and it might be bigger than I need for any practical purpose except for camping food prep. I really like how both the military and pm2 look and the price is about the same.

I think that so far you've made a wise choice. The Endura and the PM2 are almost identical in size. The Delica gives you a knife of totally different dimensions and weight. I just picked up a Delica and right now it is challenging my Dragonflies for the space in my pocket, although I think the Dragnflies will win in the end for EDC status, but right now I really like having the Delica as an alternative.

The Paramilitary 2 is a great knife, with fabulous ergos, but it is a little heavy. I prefer my Endura for actual carry and cutting, even though technically it shouldn't be quite as good a knife. I handled the Delica in the shop, and found it a little small for me, even though I don't have big hands. But a lot of people will tell you that you won't really notice the size. I actually enjoy the Dragonfly, and if you are looking for a large/small combo, you might want to think about the FRN Dragonfly. Great little knife.

Para2 , Super Blue or hap40 Delica, and Hap 40 Dragonfly is all the knives you would ever need. Everyone should have a dragonfly in there collection.

I'm with you! I carry the FRN Dragonfly for EDC and the G10 Foliage Green when I go out for the evening, it looks a little dressier or at least that's what I tell myself.

I have the 4 you mention, Delica in SB, Endura in ZDP, Millies and Para2s in S30V and up.

My choice would definitely be the Military and the Para2.
Part of that is because of the locks, back locks are fine but I prefer a liner lock and waaay prefer the comp lock because I find them easier to manipulate one handed. Perhaps it's because I have used them far more than back locks and are just more used to them.

Perhaps a Military now and wait for the upcoming 3" Paramilitary?

You said budgets not really an issue so, I recently acquired a Slysz Bowie which was expensive but well worth it IMO, and a Bradley2 I think which was an outright bargain. 2 beautiful and high functional folders.

Everyone needs a Delica at some point, so just plan on one of those.
The Native 5 is IMO one of the most underrated knives out there...it's just awesome.
I'm also a big Manix 2 fan.
Don't overlook the Stretch, either. Right smack dab in between the Endura and Delica in size.

^ +1

Love my Delica, Native 5, & Manix 2. Dragonfly is also great! I can't believe how sharp that little bugger is. I might even have to splurge for a DF with G10 scales one of these days.

Little late to the party I guess. IMO I'd go with Military and Delica. I whittled a large Spyderco collection down to the Military, PM2, and Delica (about to add a HAP40 Stretch though) and if I had to omit one it'd be the PM2. The Military is just so nice and light for a 4" blade. Classic design that doesn't need to change, and the Delica is just no nonsense and gets the job done. That way you have large and small. I find the Military slightly more comfortable in extended use than the PM2 also.

Since you said that you were open to ideas if you haven't purchased I would make another recommendation. First I will say that I made the same switch as you did. Going from a BM Grip to all spydie carry my leave you wanting a little bit just on the smooth flipping action. I also have all of the above blades. I would recommend the Delica and a Gayle Bradley 2. The GB has both a workhorse blade as well as being a great cutter. It is also ultra smooth and very compact for a large bladed folder.

There are so many many great spydercos. It's hard to pick just 10 let alone 5 or 2 or 1. Just start collecting them. It's an eventuality ;)

PM2, Manix 2, Southard, Delica, Yojimbo, Tuff, Dodo, Domino, Dice, Stretch, Native 5, and on and on and on. Then you can start getting all the sprint runs of those ;)

So to simplify, just limit your purchase to all the models made in Colorado, Taiwan, and Japan, then maybe the China line to keep around for loaners. Then you should be set. [emoji41]. Doh! Forgot Italy. Did I miss any of the best models?

Oh, was that two models? I must have misread the "Which two hundred Spydies should I buy?" [emoji56]

You will soon realise that the Delica is all you really need , and the the PM2 is just icing on the cake .

Hey guys, I'm looking to pick up two knives soon and wouldn't mind suggestions. I'm looking at the military, pm2, endura and delica. I'm looking for a change from the griptilian I've had forever. I'd like something with a finer tip that's good for cutting and general use (not prying or abuse). One handed opening and closing is important and necessary. Budget isn't a huge concern I just want to have some fun and variety, I've done enough research that I'm fairly sure it's down to these 4 but maybe I could be persuaded otherwise.
Spend under $200 and get a VG-10 Stretch and a Chaparral.

Put the balance towards a Dragonfly.

There's the nut of your Spyderco EDC needs.

Where should I buy from that has no fakes and best prices? I'm seeing bladehq has the brown handle pm2 with upgraded steel for $150, not sure on shipping. Amazon has the cheapest pm2, camo/plain for $122 with prime. I want the blue one though, not sure if anyone has em.
