Get a Katana. You can chop someone in half with a quality Japanese made one.

Unless you're highly trained with a sword, you're far more likely to hurt yourself than the poor schmuck you were trying to cut in half. Plus, a real katana is high maintenance...just like that pretty cheerleader in highschool. Also, a good katana is prohibitively expensive. Its not a really good SHTF melee weapon. Don't believe Walking Dead.

You'd be far better off with a rugged combat hawk. It can flex into a defensive weapon but also serve at breaching, trail clearing and wood prep. A good hawk with a sturdy fixed blade knife should be all the "sharp" weapons you need. There are threads here about how to select a good hawk if you want to learn.

Besides, we all know that cutting a zombie in half just leaves you with two zombies. A hawk can bash in their skull. Problem solved.
