Which Victorinox ?

I just asked that question in the dedicated multitools forum-I wanted a practically sized SAK with both the saw and the scissors. The answer is the Huntsman. I got one in the mail this week and from now on it is my dedicated outdoors SAK.

huntsman has been in my pocket for about 17 years.
broke the saw about 3 years back, so one of these days i'll have to replace it.
Also like my NATO issue with the blade & saw/bottle opener.

Farmer, OHT and whatever imodel is the German Army issue one like this- http://www.countycomm.com/germanissueknife.htm

and i used to have one with the philips screwdriver on the end like a normal blade and not in the middle. no clue what that was or if they still make one like that.

anything with one handed opening.

and a Farmer with red alox would be nice.

And another vote for the Farmer (or similar model, like the Electrician plus or the Pioneer Harvester).

Many times I read about when guys in the UK break something on their SAK, they send it to an office over here and they either replace the part or give them a new knife. Victorinox really does look after their customers. Maybe there's an office in North America that you can contact?

I have over 50 Victorinox knives but my top 5 are-
Huntsman, Compact, Swisschamp, Farmer, One hand Trekker.
Also if you are talking multis add the Spirit to the list!
If i had to choose just one it would be a tossup between the Huntsman and Swisschamp!
I think if you could get Victorinox to sell the stayglow scales separately you could do brisk business selling those!
I would buy at least 6 pairs, likely more!

I like the one handed German Army issue Trekker as well. If I want a scissors, I keep a Huntsman handy.

It sure would be nice to see some red Alox Farmers. I had to settle for a blue.

Swisschamp
Champ XLT
Farmer
Hercules
Workchamp XL

Hell, doesnt really seem to matter anyway. As soon as I pick up another model I am looking at yet another.

Any of the Alox knives. The Farmer, of course and Lumberjack (if you can find one.) The +B knives are excellent.

I have been. Either there are none, or double price. I'll keep on trying thou.

My favorite is my Vic Farmer that has had a pair of scissors added to it...sort of like a Huntsman on steroids! I find it an extremely useful knife.

I own 2 SAK's

one is a one hand trekker,

and the other is I believe a craftsman, i like the pliers, scissors, saw, file option. very useful for me, a small solid multi tool. the pliers make good forceps too.
