Which ZT should I get?

Both the 470 and the 640 are vastly under-rated. Whale all the haters are running a round talking about how ZT has gone away from their bold & overbuilt roots....they have been releasing some of the best blades on the market. I carry both regularly, they are smooth, lightweight, and great slicers.

I totally agree. My 470 is great. Small in pocket, but lots of blade, and it gets the job done. I liked it so much I got a 2nd.

ZT did smaller knives before (just look at how many people love the 450!) and still do big, heavy knives as well. Sure the 223 is polarizing, so is the new 308. But the 470 is very overlooked imo. Carrying mine right now as a matter of fact, and it did its job today at work. Love it.

ZT0562CF or Ti: compliments your PM2 well. Lots of aftermarket parts available to help you customize and make it your own.
ZT0092: still one of ZT's best slicers, especially in the hands of one who can sharpen. Big blade, slim package, snappy action. The black wash DLC finish is beautiful.
ZT0470: probably the most practical EDC of my three suggestions. Excellent all around blade shape and compact size.

I have benchmades and Spyderco, my favorite are a 560-1 super freek and pm2. I had a zt566 (edited, wrong number) and a 350 a long while ago but didn't like the assisted opening on either and the 350 was just too "tactical" and so I sold both.

I want to get a zt just to add to my collection for basic EDC use. If you could only get one and you love the pm2 size and slicey-ness, which model ZT would you get and why?

Thanks all

Out of my ten ZT’s, my Hinderer customized 0393 (bottom row, far right) is my favorite. But I play with my Guardian Tactical Helix Combat and Nano models the most!

The 0470 is a deluxe gentleman's blade. Very, very nice.
Steel washers so the bearings do not run on Ti, epic scale lightening,
epic details, fantastic marble carbon scale insert. A thin blade, a nice grind,
and 20CV combine to make for a very sweet knife. It really is a fantastic choice.
The new 0460Ti also has the steel washer treatment and 20CV and I am surprised
at how excellent it is. I thought list price was too high...and scored it on sale for 169.95
from DLT. It also makes for a superior EDC.

My favorite ZT remains the 0462CF which is a giant lightweight 20CV monster of
a blade. Epic.

I don’t know why but I’m really liking the 0470 and 0393, with the 0562 in third place. The 0450 is nice but seems maybe a little small for what I’m looking for, it’s a solid 4th place. Thanks for the suggestions, now I’ve got at least some idea of what I want.

Say, let’s narrow it down further. Between the 0470 and 0393 which and why?

anybody got any for sale?

The best slicer that I have experienced from ZT is the 0230 - the ball-detent traditional that was released late last year. Of the locking folders, I would say the 0470 is the best slicer, and it's a darn nice looking knife too.

best

470, hands down. I just think the 393 is ugly... Lol

Always exciting to see what ZT will come up with next , I wonder if they'll surprise us at SHOT ? Wish I'd Bought an extra one of these.

I mostly like the Emerson Zts as don't like flippers much. Have edc'd 0640 for months. Excellent knife, but things would make it perfect would be.....4" blade, different steel besides 20cv as its hard to even touch up let alone full edge reprofile which dreading, and wish zt offered partial serrations on it. I would very much recommend the 0640 tho. Favorite out of dozens Zts have owned.

I’m a titanium guy for my main blade.
0562TI is gonna be my next, before looking at the new CRK 31s.

Great time to be buying a knife!

I would say the great time to buy a 0562TI was about one month ago when you could pay $100 less brand new. I am kicking myself. ;)

2 of my favourite ZTs
The 0470 is a better slicer and is more compact in the pocket
If you are looking for a gentleman EDC o n steroids it is the way to go

on the other hand the 0393 has a more utilitarian blade shape and provide more grip when you need to put strength in your cut

Not sure where your hailing from, but that knife has always been a $400 knife in Canada since it launched.
MSRP on just about everything is out of hand :)

Of course we all know the most underrated ZT is the mighty 0022. Very slim carry, easy to forget it's even there. :D But seriously, it is almost keychain small, and easy to just drop in pocket for extra utility. The shape allows for a rock solid grip. Very BIG little knife.

Two of my very favorites too. Both are unique. But I would add the 0609 to the mix too!View attachment 1267390

My future short list has actually morphed from the three in seadaddy's pic, to just the 0470 & 0640.

There was the 1st time ever ZT on sale in the 2019 year end holiday season. $180 for ZT 0562TI by multiple dealers was the lowest although it lasted for just a few days, IIRC.

I’d go with the 0640. The shape reminds me of the BM 710 which is one my favorites of all time. Plus, it has a 20CV blade and Ti/CF handle

Some of the manufacturers gave dealers a "holiday from MAP" around the holiday season to help clear out some inventory. I would have been all over my want list if my income hadn't been obliterated this year.
