evedently some folks on bladeforums have accussed me of 'advertiseing' my business via my trade threads and contest.....

just to let anyone that cares know, i will no longer be posting such things, i dont need to advertise here..... i spend alot on my marketing in the right places and have fired more than one person for putting my stuff in places that it didnt belong, i like posting real info about what i do for a living because i think it is interesting, just like i like reading what you all do in your daily life.

i doubt this stuff came from anyone on the busse forum. who knows.

I love your stuff -- just WISH i could afford to have you come redo my entire kitchen -- a surprise valentines day present for my wife :thumbup:

I never had a prob with ya, in fact I thought the idea of trading your creations for infi was rather ingenious. But whatever, some people always gotta ice skate up hill.
 
I don't see any of your posts as shilling for your company. Unless you got in trouble with an admin or mod, I say screw the whiners and their opinions. Keep on posting what you want.
 
I have edited out my comments in the event that the person who contacted the Mods did so in good faith.

But even if they did it would have been a better plan to look at some of VTW's 700 posts and get a sense of what they were dealing with.

i'll second that. i think it's great when people sponsor contests, no matter what forum or site i'm on. just because the prize happens to be what you do for a living is nobody's business. don't let some azzhole bitching about it stop you from what you like to do.

Additional the accusation is just stupid. The forum is nation wide and globally available to English speakers. I don’t see you building a client base in San Francisco or Paris (for example) by posting here. About all you are going to get is a guy like me that thinks it is cool to ask if you know anyone on the west coast doing that kind of work.
 
This is all very foolish.

I enjoy VTW's posts. I learn from them...I get to see what his life is like -- a life very different from my own rather button-down existence.

I say let him post whatever seems fitting to him. If it should ever go too far, well that's why Spark has mods. But I don't think it would ever come to that...

VTW just loves his profession, what he does for a living. That's admirable.

That's SO bogus! Everything you've written about has been in relation to knives somehow or other.
UNLESS a moderator tells you otherwise, you're fine, and tell them to piss off.

If someone had a problem they should have manned up and spoke to you....
If the mods allow it, i also cast my vote to let it continue, it is one of the many things that makes the Busse forum unique. I have enjoyed your posts and find great interest in the occupations (and odd hobbies) of others here...
 
VTW, Last I heard, we're still in a country with free speech. Say and post what you want. Remember, self-actualization was at the *top* of Mazlow's heirarchy of needs.

As for your detractors, have them check out the quote from Mr Lincoln in my sig. ;) :D
