Anyone else like to do some casual whittling with your edc knife ?
I certainly do, I rarely ever end up with anything though.
Here's something I whipped up in 10min or less

I'd like to see some pics of things you guys might whittle when your board.

I don't whittle but I just had to stop in and say that the little knife you whittled is cool as all get out!

Great job, maybe the beginning of a wee collection, or series of little ones? (paint/finish it?)

Be careful mate because you begin whittling with your EDC and you end up like some of us edcing something for whittling with

lutejones, that's some crazy good whittlin'. And you ARE a knife man. Looks like the tool you use for trimming your nails too - as well as myself!

That's a great litter knife you made. Looks like a tiny Becker... Maybe a 20?

lutejones, those are amazing! I'm not a whittler, but I can see how it would be great fun!

Lutejones if those little guys ever need a great fixed blade just contact Hickory n steel. :D Seriously though both of you are absolutely fantastic whittlers. Lutejones my wife collects all kinds of figurines and those are as good if not better than any she owns. Very cool indeed.:cool:

I'm a big fan of the EDC whittling knife. Here's the one that is usually in my pocket.

Like Mateo, I dream of finding the perfect (for me) all-around EDC whittling knife. I may never find it, but it'll be a fun journey!

That's an impressive little knife, BTW! How did you manage to hold on to it while you were working on it?

I just held it and held the knife with only a little bit of the blade exposed.
I also put it on my carving log Dow a few of the more difficult cuts.
( I have bony fingers, so I have no problem holding onto small things )
If I was gonna do a lot of these little knives I'd probably glue some leather onto a pair of hemostats.

Working on a Cherry stick now.

I prefer hard woods. This one is Walnut whittled with a Case Half Congress:

I have a couple of slipjoints I whittle with, as well as a pair of Sloyds, but I don't whittle much with my EDC. The blade shape of that knife, while good for mundane day-to-day tasks, is not that great for whittling.
