Not trying to start a "Shook His Hand" HOG versus Internet HOG thing here.

I'm just curious who all has made the pilgrimage and experienced the weirdness and fun of a Blade induction. These guys and girls spent their time and money to make the trip, and a little recognition doesn't hurt in that regard.

I have missed one Blade show since 2002. THE Bussekin functions are not to be missed. Occasionally I buy a knife there too...

You should ask the question, "Where do all the people live that have been to Atlanta?"

I bet its single digit percent that live over 2000 miles away;)

Recognition. No better choice of words

They seem to be falling into the mass of the IT inducted.

It doesn't mean anything anymore. :(

I would have to say that is wrong.
Every year I see tons of people from outside the US there plus many more from the other side of the country. There is also Blade West.I am 4 hours from Atlanta and go every year,I know that is not that far but is is not like running down town either. For the past couple years I only went for one day,an 8 hour round trip drive for one day at the show is a hard drive.

I live @5 hours away. I went down just for Friday '07 & '08. Had planned to do Friday and Saturday this year, and not stay for the induction dinner. Well, the friend I was staying with had an emergency at work and he couldn't go, so I decided to go by myself and make a weekend of it.

I was inducted as BaconBeavers (class of '09). I actually went for the trifecta and got inducted as a Rat and a Dog as well, since I was there:D The cool thing was that since they went alphabetically, I ended up being 1st (Beavers).

I'm trying to convince my wife and daughter to go with me next year to share the joy. I hope to be able to make FOGO's on Thursday next year and I'm trying to make Knob Creek happen, although it's like 500 miles each way and our annual Rugby Alumni Match is at 1:00 on Sunday and I have to be back for that.

Not to ruffle any feathers Dwayne....But I beg to differ....

Yes we have inducted many online.... HOWEVER if you make the trip to Blade we make it very special....and many people who have been inducted online are very happy:):) and when(many do) they make it to Blade are just as happy:)

and I am very sorry if you do not think it 'means" anything anymore...because to be honest the company has grown BUT still have a amazing customer base...and new HOGS per say are always evolving...

I will talk to the Boss man and see if we can update the list

Kisses,

Well I woke up the Sunday of Blade 09 on a plane from Atlanta. I had two cuts on each shoulder, lipstick on my cheek, wearing a rubber hog nose, over a rat nose on my face, a Coors Lite label on my forehead, and a candy rat in my back pocket.

I think I'm in.
