that is a good point LOL!!

I dont really see the greatness of the old mora knife, yes they are cheap, yes they cut well but there are alot of quality knives out there that may be a bit more expensive but still affordable and do the job just as well if not better.

The reason Ive gone off Mora knives is they keep stopping production of my favourites like the 740 carbon which was pretty good .

the new line of bushcraft knives have stopped me getting any more, I like the looks of the bushcraft force but the prices have gone up to the point where I would rather have something from condor knives instead for a bit more money

I've used a few here and there sure, but I've never owned one...or at least never bought one. The only knife I want to have flex in it is a fillet knife :) Other than that 1/8-inch or 3mm is about as thin as I want.

I have one Mora - a red handled 511 (I think) that I won here on a giveaway. I like it for doing rough, nasty stuff around the house and yard. It gets the job done and does it well, but it gives me no aesthetic pleasure when handling or using it, as finer tools do.

None here. To me they look quite functional for light duty, and they're certainly not expensive.

I have a carbon steel clipper with a kydex sheath that I made, but I'm not really feeling it. It is too light weight for me i like my sog seal pup and esee 3 beter.

I own one "Clipper" carbon steel. It works good as a light duty whittler, great for building traps (figure 4's & spring snares..etc) Easy to sharpen & you can make'em wicked sharp ! will not be purchasing myself anymore of these, Condor's knives are alot better & not much more in cost !

Both my boys(age 8) wanted one after they got into watching "Dual Survival" & saw Cody using one all the time. So they both carry a Mora Scout in SS. Great knife for the beginners !

Joe,

I got one in a bulk buy from someone here at Bladeforums. It looks just like your 6th photo, first on the left. It took somewhat of a 2ndary bevel in the hands of the last user, so the first thing to be fixed was to restore the skandi grind.

Honestly the damn thing is so easy to use, and purely utilitarian in the hand, it has replaced my RC-3mil for around the house chores, and do anything cutting duty.

Never appealed to me. Other than it being a decent food knife in camp I just don't care for them. Nate

I got a companion mg a while ago. I was ordering something else and threw it on the order cuz they're cheap and I wanted to try it out. I like it a lot. My impressions mirror what some have said but are completely opposite of others. My thoughts:
Looks: Most Moras are ugly but I think the MG is actually quite nice looking. Very sporty looking IMO. If it's not your thing then it's not your thing.
Scandi Grind: I hate scandi's in general but on the thin mora it works well.
Edge holding: I've found that it loses it's razor sharpness quick but the useable edge lasts quite a while and like others have said, they sharpen quick.
Weight: I can see being too light could make you think something is weak but IMO light and useful is the best attributes for something I have to carry.
Sheath: To be honest the sheath that comes with the current moras is better then every...EVERY sheath that I've gotten with custom knives. Exception, a Koyote but hell Koyote girl sheaths are in their own class.
Handle: The handle is the most comfy I've used. No exceptions.
What I dislike: The hard plastic handle. It just seems like the first thing to break. Ideally I'd like to see a full tang version with the same overall shape with lightweight wood scales put on and the rubber over mold on top of that.
Other then that I think it's a great knife. In conjunction with a chopper it's hard to beat. Definitely gets my vote anytime someone's looking for a good knife on a budget.

I bought a 546G this year as a "throwaway" deer hunting knife. I only hunt with a bow anymore, and this knife has been great for a $10 knife. I've gone thru 3 deer with it, including breastbones, but not pelvis, and it's still sharp. I wash the gore off of it with hot water, and it's good to go. You could stick it in the dishwasher if you want to. I haven't sharpened it yet (season is still in). For the money, I'll just get another, or I'll try to sharpen it for kicks, either way, it's been a great value. I would take it in a survival situation. I think the sheath kinda sucks, since most belts I own are too thick for it. If I could put a loop on the backside of the main part of the sheath, It would be a keeper probably.

Everyone is showing the plastic handled knives

There are wooden handled knives in leather sheaths with 3 5/8 lamiminated blades
Classic, plain, but not ugly
