Something ya don't see everyday. Big Tyler and I were carrying the ice chest into the corrals. Walk past the cattle, drop off the ice chest come back past the cattle and brand new calf on the ground, I mean born in like 30 seconds!

We eased the rest of the cattle out of that pen and opened the gate and so when the lil guy was able to walk, he and his mom went on out.

He was able to walk out the gate and across the range maybe 30 minutes after being born.

I like Fallkniven but generally look for alternatives given that you have to send the knife across the pond if it ever needs warranty service - but, I am a sucker for trailing points (like the sadly discontinued Becker BK-15) and that Sir is one sexy looking trailing point!

Agreed!! The only saving grace is 98 out of 100 Fallkniven knives are never going to need it!!! Ill take them odds!!! Especially for such A sexy looker as the volcano!!!!!
I must have watched the video Paul from BushcraftCanada.com has on the volcano 200 times!!! Not an exaggeration!!! Have a look! He does some good videos on all his products! It was the only volcano I could find in 2012 when they came out. I got one of the first hundred that were numbered. #80 is my baby. However I use the hell out it!!!!!!!

Good point JFK.
Is there any competitor to the Volcano?
I ask because despite my affection for trailing points, they don't seem to sell well. I am an outdoorsman and find that blade shape to me most useful. Even though it's not a dramatic trailing point the Chris Reeve One Piece Range "Sable" is a very useful knife that never ranked high in sales. Likewise my beloved Becker BK-15, awesome knife that provides great value - discontinued to to poor sales.

Since I've had mine I've seen two others here on the forums. One guy broke the cocobolo handle batoning logs and redid it with micarta!! Came out good too!! The other was sold on the exchange a few years ago. Pretty much a rare bird! Also saw one in a Dutch sheathmakers site. So not many in the wild to my eye, but I don't spent much time here. Maybe an hour or hour n a half a week.

Haven't seen anything like it since the BK 5 & 15

Check out Montana Knife Company for some good looking trailing points. It’s a pretty new company and I haven’t handled any, but it seems like they’ve got a good pedigree and slick designs!
