Who else EDCs a fixedblade?

There was this big, bright, yellow sphere in the sky today... almost looked familiar - LOL! First sunny day I can remember since first week of November!

Liten Bror out for a walk in the glorious, warm sunlight:

EDC I've been carrying after I lost my good folder to TSA a few months back. Too easy to forget a folder in your pocket when you've been wearing it for 15 years, this time I was late for the flight and didn't have time to mail it home.

The replacement for now is a 3" blade and bit under 7" OAL O1 steel. Slim 3/16" Micarta scales and leather sheath. Nice and light and easy to forget I have it on my belt. I suspect TSA will try to nab it when I, once again, forget to pack it in my tool bag.

Lovely blade, the Aqua Salt! It's slowly becoming my favorite large fixed blade, it's got so many good features...

What's not to like?

Of course, I spent some time in the woods as well - I gotta get my daily dose of being alone in the woods - it keeps me sane:

I don't own a folder yet.

New Barkie in the stable - graciously sent to me by a fellow BF member (not sure if he wants his name mentioned) - The Essential:

I usually carry only a knife for self defense. And that knife is a fixed blade. Sure, sometimes I carry a gun with me, and when I do, I'll have a small folder in my pocket, but usually it's only a fixed blade knife.
I guess it depends on where you live and where you tend to frequent, but I feel comfortable just sticking a fixed blade knife in my waist band, or clipping one onto my belt.
My knives of choice when I do this are either a Cold Steel Bush Ranger or a Blackjack Tac-Ops 4 1/2in.
I think this forum should have a section for fixed blade knives only. Since they are all I'm really interested in these days, I get so tired of sifting through all the folding knife post to find any about fixed blades. Just my opinion.

When you look like me, open carry of a large fixed blade is deterrent enough.
