Who else EDCs a fixedblade?

^^ That's a good looking knife, azkyakr! Very nice pic, too - well done. Could you please share maker and model.. Thx!

For me, today was the first time I've carried these two together, and I think they really like each other! Hehe..

I keep seeing these Guardian 3's and finally had to pull the trigger. It should be here in the next week!

I just got this in the mail but have yet to figure how I want to carry it. I will say one thing, it is SHARP. Good thing I heal quickly. It fits my hand great and has a very nice finish so I hope to carry it a lot, once I figure out how.
Frank.

Excellent, Shovelhead2! I know you'll be pleased with it. One word of advice, though - if you got the undyed natural leather sheath, it may require some conditioning and break in. My standard tan sheath was very tight when it was new. I used a light coat of mineral oil and worked it with my hands a bit to help to break it in (with the knife in the sheath). The black one I received was not nearly as tight and required no breaking in. Not sure why, because my experience has been that it's typically the dyed black sheaths that require the break in, not the undyed natural sheaths. Could've been a fluke, but thought I'd mention it for any G3 purchasers out there..

Who Else EDC's a Fixed Blade ?

OR
Who Else EDC's 2 Fixed Blades ? THAT's the weirder question

Why two . . . one polished edge taken to at least 8000 Shapton . . . the second one left very toothy. I haven't decided yet where to stop with the toothy stone. I need to learn about toothy. I am a toothy illiterate. Maybe that will be my thread in the General Discussion and I need to do some searching of old threads but anyone feel free to comment or give me some links. Shall I go like Ankerson's 400 grit with some strop right after? I don't know.

I just got the second one today and have not gone toothy yet. For the FULL deal see the Cold Steel forum.

Sorry if I have offended some peoples sensibilities and knife connoisseurness. I fully understand how one could be repulsed by these nine dollar knives . . . but hey . . . they cut stuff . . . they really, Really, REALLY cut stuff and feel so perfect in the hand doing it. I'm going to ride this little comet as far as I can and see where it goes.

Thanks for listening. Maybe I should change my forum name to "Knife Bozo". I feel pretty silly posting this but . . . as I said they cut/feel SO NICE.

A knife is a tool to be used. Doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, it's your tool. It's also your money. Spend it the way you want. Anyone that jumps on here berating you needs to just move on. I don't know that anyone will though, seems like a good group here.

I'm a carpenter and I carried a CRKT S P E W for several years. I carried it horizontally over my left pocket. I now carry a custom knife a friend made with a 4 in wharncliffe blade in a leather sheath. Extremely handy

Thanks for the advice! I'll keep that in mind.

I have some other things coming in, but, generally, at work, I'm carrying two of any combination of these:

(Top row: Boker Plus Trigonaut, Cold Steel Mini Tac Kiridashi, Cold Steel Safe Keeper II. Bottom knife: CRKT C/K Dragon)

And, yes, the push dagger is a great utility knife, and I use it all the time at work on boxes:

"Take that, you corrugated son of a bitch."

I don't always carry a fixed blade but have started to more an more especially of I am doing outside chores around the house. Here was my yard work companion over the weekend:

These are my two newest Future EDC fixed...the red & purple dyed wood knife is 8.5"OAL w/4.25" Elmax blade (2.5mm thick) by Konrad (Kosa_PL) - Sadowski Knives all the way from Poland - these two pics are crap because I just snapped them here at work - the knife looks so much better in person, esp. with the 24 coats of Tru-Oil I just finished applying to these scales. And the Robert Erickson knife is about 10.25"OAL w/approx.5.5" N690 blade (1/8" thick) with Shadetree Coffee Bag burlap micarta scales and natural micarta & purple G10 liners & pinstripes - the measurements are approximations as this knife was just completed & mailed to me today, so I cannot wait to get this beauty in hand....this is my 4th knife from Robert, but the 1st one I had a hand in designing; I snagged the other three off of his Bladeforums sales posts.

Let me know what you guys think, I love them...
