Who else EDCs a fixedblade?

Found this old Aitor knife in a flea market at a small town these holidays

Snody Escalade

This lil guy is razor sharp, very light and pocketable. AEBL steel. Looked over the other day to see my girlfriend using it to cut a soda can in half, to my chagrin. Edge held up fine.

Also, spent last week at the beach with one. Zero rust or stains.

Hey I know this is the wrong thread for this but I tried the Cold Steel forum and no body seems to know.
Since this is a fixed blade, EDC project I present it to you guys. I know there are better knives but I really like the Kray-Ex handle and am trying to get a realistic handle size with a blade length around 3.5 inch made with real steel. Thus this crazy project :

Meaning; is there any chance of fitting a Cold Steel Pendleton Hunter (the newest one with 3V, DLC, 3.5 inch blade) into the sheath that comes with the 4 inch Cold Steel Peace Maker III ?

Maybe by making a modification to the handle or the sheath ?

Who has both knives and is willing to try one in the other ?
Thanks in advance .

Just curious, mean no harm - what do you guys like about EDCing a fixed blade? Do you use it more for work, or is it for the same daily jobs I use my folders for?

Sometimes they replace the folder, like my Minimalist, ideal when there's sensible people around

Generally for rouger tasks (dirty jobs, so as to avoid gunk and dirt entering the picot or the folder's components, easier to clean) or cutting large amounts of plants/weeds/twigs (I often have to, and a FB is much more comfortable for those major chores).

Sometimes prying (not excessively, but something that could damage the folder or cause blade play) and finally on occasion to stab hard (i.e. in a log, to hand something from it, or thrusting through heavy, hard plastic like in gardening containers, flower pots, etc.)

They also generally have more reach/length than folders, which allows to use them as a machete (I use the voyagers more often for that, admittedly), reach further to cut things otherwise out of reach, or add mass and blade to allow chopping and batoning

If it ain't fixed, what is it? That's right.

You can definitely use a fixed blade for the same things you use a broken knife for. They work just fine for that, only better.

No centering "issues", no blade play in any direction, no pivots, no space between the scales to clean. They draw faster than any folder, even waved ones and switchblades.

The list goes on and on.

Also for some of us there are legal restrictions. For example I cannot carry one handed opening locking folders around. However I can carry an up to 12cm blade length fixed no worries.
Also price is and issue. I can get a fixed t my liking probably cheaper than a folder. But I sure like folders as well. And own several.
