I just don't get it. I can understand the collectible side, but these are knives. They are made to cut stuff! The first scratch is the hardest, go use them!:D

I just hate seeing stacks of amazing blades that'll never see more than paper:(

Honestly, i'm not going to tell people how to spend their money and what to do with the things they purchase. That said, i've never been much of a collector of anything. The thing with BC knives is they're made to be used, their high price is because of their inherent durability and warranty. Putting them away to never use seems like a waste of money, i'd just prefer a picture of it.

I do understand the collector mentality however, it's just never been my thing, maybe if I were a millionaire I could "collect". I see a lot of guys who have safe queens but also user knives, that I totally understand. Their money though, and their choice.

I think flippers are obnoxious though, but seeing their prices are always good for a laugh.

i use all my knives, like you said their made to cut stuff!i dont get the collecting side and or putting all these exoctic materials in the knife to make it look all pretty, yeah some knives have all this in them but why put a sharp edge and make the blade outta the best steel known to man on them if your not gonna cut stuff.Busse knives look amazing, made outta wicked steel but they do say to use them, its what their made for, unlike another knife company(ill call them "WARM STEEL"),they put all their knives through all these test, put them on you tube to "advertise" that their knives can do all this, then say they dont reccomend you do this,i wanna knife to pry open doors, chomp through bricks, flattern forests and slice my tomatos!thats why i buy Busse Knives, only got 2,one to flattern forests etc etc and the other to slice my tomatos, all i need(",)

I have knives I will not use unless there is an emergancy. I keep new knives in my bug out bags, car trunk, etc....

Thought I know that is not what you ment.

ill probably never use my ash1 hog edition. its big and heavy, and i have others with similar blade length that tend to cut better.

i may take it out and chop some stuff with it some day, but its not one id carry. prefer the smaller stuff for camping.

got rid of all my choppers.

Knives can be like a painting or a classic car .... you can get a lot out of them just looking at them .... and investment wise .... if I had my pension in SHBM's when they first came out I would be looking forward to an early retirement .... especially if they were "pristine" .... but it's different strokes for different folks .... I get the most enjoyment out of using them .... if I had a classic car I would need to drive it .... even race it if I had the right one and enough cash .... but I would probably want to buy one from a "collector" ....

I'll probably never use my Terror Monkey Boss Street. It has sentimental value because I picked it up at my first Knob Creek.

That being said, I beat the piss out of my NMSFNO and my FFBM.

230grains is right though, seeing prices of people who flip their knives can be good for a laugh. Especially a BWMLE for $100 more than what you can pick up one now or a Waki for $200 more.

Their money, though, and their choice.

That's right. We have folks who are collectors and others who are users, and many who fall into both camps. We don't judge our fellow Bussekin, we're all here because we like the knives and the people.

I have a few that I intend to sell which I won't use 'cause ... well, they're easier to sell if they're new. Of the knives I intend to keep, I think the one I'd be most hesitant to use is my SFNO LE ... it's just so perfectly, beautifully mint. Of all the knives I've gotten from Busse, this one is the most flawless from the factory. Fortunately I have lots of other knives in the same size range that I can use instead.

Personally, I buy two of any knife I plan to use & abuse! One for the collection, and one to wail on!!!

I have USED knives that I collect and wouldn't even thing about using myself. :D :p

Figure that one out. :D

.

I use all of my Busse Knives except a few that I keep for special occasions:D:D

I can't seem to hold on to knives that I don't use. I wind up selling them to fund knives I will use.

Although I wouldn't mind having a second copy of the knives I abuse a lot to keep in a drawer, that way in 20 years I'll still have a brand new copy of a favorite knife to break out and start using.

I use most of them, but there are a couple that I havn't used yet.

I don't buy a knife that I don't intend to use.

I have 20 Busse-kin blades.

5 I have carried/used.

3 of those 5 I use heavily on a semi-regular basis.

I use all mine, but I can tell you for sure, If I had a huge budget, I would have a whole stack with no use. I really only need a couple users in each size range, and the rest would end up being safe queens.
