Who in here carries a knife......

If I am wearing clothes I have a knife. Some uses:
  • Open boxes
  • Cut string
  • Play toy
  • Cut rope
  • Prepare food (on occasion)
  • Open mail
  • Shred Mail
  • Strip wire
  • Cut out coupons or articles
  • Remove Labels
  • Shave arm
  • etc etc etc!

I don't carry a knife specifically for protection, but it is there. Hopefully I will never have to use it for that purpose. Buy a knife, use it, enjoy it! The knives you like the most are the ones you carry and use.

I always have a knife on me. Usually several. All I carry is pocket knives though, multiblade stockman, whittlers and pen knives. I use them for everything, but mostly whittling. I often keep a scrap of wood on me to turn into something, Ball-in-cage, chain or whatever. I have not found a fixed blade I am comfortable carrying. Still looking though.

I carry a knife (usually more but rarely more than 7) all the time to cut stuff and just to play with. It gives me a reason to wake up in the morning. I wake up take my hand off the Ka-Bar stuffed between the mattresses with the snap unsnapped and IMMEDIATELY put on a folder. Then I get dressed and put on a couple of more. Knives aren't just a hobby to me they are a reason to live.

I think you may be right. Either that, or this guy has never actually held a knife only seen them on TV. I have known some people before that were utterly shocked to see a knife. You know the type: "Man that's so cool, can I see it? Wow, I didn't think anyone actually carried a knife."

If I'm wrong, I appologise. Something just doesn't add up here.

I would think that in your line of work a knife may come in handy from time to time, you know, for opening envelopes and stuff...

Ignore these guy, they're just pullin' your leg. None of them ever carries a knife. In fact, no one here carries a knife. Didn't you know this? BladeForums is a place for people to talk about knives. If these people were really out using knives, would they be in here on the computer talking about them? Think about it. No one carries a knife. But you're supposed to say that you do, get it?
