Saudi princes need knives, too.Didn’t Benchmade make a GOLD class Bugout? Why?
The same reason they sold those silly Supreme versions for $400. Someone out there will buy it.Didn’t Benchmade make a GOLD class Bugout? Why?
So they are missing out on a good design but you are excited that other companies can now use the same design now that the patent has expired? When I see a expensive Benchmade I personal feel bad for who ever buys it. That customer is missing out on either a high quality product or a better design. With the expiration of the cross bar lock patent the door has opened and I am loving it.
Think CRKT redemption, coffin handle with the lock bar assisting the opening. Benchmade never really evolved the lock anyways. Look at kizer's clutch lock evolution, why did it take 20 years to be able to adjust Omega spring pressure? So they are missing out on a good design but you are excited that other companies can now use the same design now that the patent has expired?
Isn’t the CRKT Redemption with steel and G10 at $225 the same problem as the Narrows in better materials at $500?Think CRKT redemption, coffin handle with the lock bar assisting the opening. Why evolve something if it simply works? I believe BM also caters to those wanting a very very familiar knife with no surprises, year over year. They may just be some of the largers BM customers. Us tinkerers on this forum, on the other hand, are probably a minority.Think CRKT redemption, coffin handle with the lock bar assisting the opening. Benchmade never really evolved the lock anyways. It seems to be made by Hogue, FWIW.Isn’t the CRKT Redemption with steel and G10 at $225 the same problem as the Narrows in better materials at $500?
Proceed with caution, this is CRKT you’re championing here…
My Benchmade knives have never cooked my favorite dinner, given some love, or made a better man....Another knife, even a BM, is WAAAAY cheaper than another wife.
Benchmades are a bargain in the proper perspective.
You need to buy Gold Class for that.My Benchmade knives have never cooked my favorite dinner, given some love, or made a better man....

Does CRKT actually make anything? Pretty sure all their new, "we don't suck anymore!" designs are imported from CA (aka made by Hogue).Really?
