Who is NOT ordering a TGLBS?

passing on the TGLB as -beeing new to Busse - i want that series to be my first wich originally drew me here .

the BMs

so i am holding out for the NMSHBMLB

I dunno....now I'm giving this thing more thoughts. Sure seems like a great blade. The hand hand guard and the lack of an ability to amputate it remains my only concern.

I have a Team Gemini and I think it is one of the most comfortable blades in its size. The double guard for me means so many more secure grips that are not possible with other handle configurations. I am a huge fan of the NMSFNO but the TG is right up there. Get one and if you don't like it, think of it as a savings account to be used for trade or future purchases! Heck I bet your federal reserve notes will depriciate while your TG will increase in value. The hollow grind is going to be a huge advantage over the thickness of the original.

I picked up a TG out of curiousity on the exchange and it quickly became a favorite.

I have to look at my finances. I've got several projects going right now. I'm pretty sure the funds aren't an issue....just wondering what it's place will be.

Thanks

Massive freaking hump in the back of the handle. Why, Jerry, why??

That hump is quite nice. You can latch on to it real well for chopping. The hump in the middle could be just a smidgen smaller for me. Bit of a golf ball on mine. A little sanding should take care of that though.

I'm trying to decide if I want to get the TGLB or try to save up for an original TG if I can even find one. I like that the original TG is a heftier (I like heavy knives) and is said to be practically bomb proof. I know in terms of toughness INFI is said to be top of it's class but will the "hollowed" tang and hollow grind on the LB sacrifice much toughness? Also will the hollow grind on the LB affect it's chopping abilities much? I'm still leaning towards the LB version since it will be easier on my wallet atm not to mention I can be sure to get the colors I want but the original TG seems like the kind of knife that if you threw it at a tank, you would be more concerned about ruining the tank rather than the knife lol.

I'm not ordering one. I've held TGs at Knob Creek and their handle swells just feel too big in my hand. Other people like them, but they're just not for me. Swamp Rat Chopweilers don't feel right to me either -- I tried to convince myself to buy one of them several times, but then I'd pick it up and quickly put it back on the table.

My only reservation is that the TGLB has a choil. After LVC convinced me (in another thread) to get a choiless boss jack, the choils on my chopweiler and SAR 6 annoy me. It is simply out of place on a knife this size--especially with that guard style. Now that said, I'll may still order one because of the second type of cool--zombie killing cool.

All of my money is going to guns right now- otherwise I would get the TGLB zombie slayer

I want one bad but every dime is getting put back for Blade, and very few dimes at that.
Hope there are some at Blade.
I did just list a couple knives for sell,if they go I will order one.
Tanker Gray with Black and Tan G10.:D

I figured I'd bump this one...

Anyone else cave and end up ordering a TGLB?

I did. Ordered a CF TGLB with black canvas and the Spec Ops sheath.

Aside from Daryl Dixon carrying one it was just too useful and beautiful to pass up. I got over the choil/guard issue to once I realized by Regulator had the same issue and it was no big deal.

Thanks

Had to order 2: one is black canvas on sage and the other is black/green g10 on jungle green. thought about the double guard, but then I thought of all the marines in WWII, Korea and Vietnam and even into the Gulf wars who carried Ka-bars on their sides into battle for the last 50 years and figured a double guard can't be all that bad.. :)

Exactly!

Not a fan of hollow grinds. I have no doubt in my mind that the TGLM is way overbuilt and strong enough handle any task, but i just don't like the hollow grind. Also not a fan of the LB treatment. It's cool and allows for fine tuning of balance but i want as much INFI in the handle as possible.

Most importantly, I'm waiting for the NMSHBM. Perhaps after the run is done I can convince Garth to make me a full convex ground 5/16 thick fatty without the LB treatment.

I dont know for sure. Jerry posted pictures of it at blade earlier this year. And last year there was a poll for what model would be next with it having 66% of the votes over both the AA and TB. Since they both got here first I'm getting anxious on it. As much as I want it to be next up i have a feeling that the NMFSH is going to be next. Alot of people are clammoring for that and it has been a very long time since a Steel Heart release (ASH1 I think?). Either way I'm going to be patient and wait for Jerry to release it someday. Too many people want a re-release of the SHBM for him not too. I hope it doesnt end up like the Muk and be on hold for years.

Oh ok.

Personally, the only three other knives I'm interest in are...

1. SFNO
2. KZ
3. BM

...in that order. I don't care what variant it is, I NEED a SFNO and KZ....I'd like to have a BM...

If you do any amount of heavy chopping, a KZ is must. Personally I like the large traditional shaped handle of the KZII. Since I have smaller hands I can actually use it in a hand and a half grip for extra power. I haven't held a TTKZ but that grip also looks like it would great. As for mistresses, you can't go wrong with any model. They all have their virtues. I'm a fan of the Straight handles.
