Who is your "End Of The World Knife" Maker?

Any folding knife with both a bottle opener and a corkscrew. If the end of the world ain't the right time to open the 'special occasion' drinks, nothing is.

I'd go with a CRK project 1 and a sebenza. That would cover everything that would need to be done.

End of the world knife, no cost constraints? I'd probably comission the team of Chris Reeve, Victorinox, and Montgomery Scott. The implementation would be a Sebenza-like multi-tool, complete with food synthesizer, intergalactic transporter, and life pod with metaphasic shielding.

If development time didn't allow for the design and manufacturing of the above, I'd just go with the trio of my EDC (Sebenza), my camp knife (CRK Shadow IV), and my weekend multi-tool (Vic SwissTool).

Tai Goo or Walter Brend.

If I gotta go, I'll go with function and style.

I have another to add to the list. Ryan Whittemore, a part of the Georgia knife makers guild, makes real nice looking and functional blades.

Everyone who knows me knows I will say Gil Hibben. There is no substitue for 50 years of knifemaking experience and his handmade knives prove it.
Sure there is. Unless you get him to make you a knife out A2. I understand he uses a lot of 440C, which is still good, but no an end of the world steel.

Hmmm....that last one TEOTWAWKI blade???

I'd have Scott Gossman build me one of these in A2 with Micarta scales.

Gil uses many types of steel but prefers 440C for most projects as do I. I think it is the best compromise for performance, durability, maintenance and appearance.

Gil uses many types of steel depending on the knife, purpose, or customers preference. Lately he has been using a lot of Damascus.

Charlie Edmondson he makes some big amazing heavy duty girls that get the job done and some amazing EDC blades too.

Surprised no one said Fehrman yet...Pick your favorite but if it's the end of the world, go with the Extreme Judgement so you can keep sharpening and have decades of steel to keep it going!

Look no further than Church & Son. Randy makes the best end of the world blades.

for me i would have to say BRKT, Leatherman and Coal Creek Forge. all the blades i have for my "END of the World" kit are from those 3, granted the CCF is a hawk and not a knife but a great bladed none the less.
