Who is your favorite lesser-known maker

We have some pretty good makers over here in Germany and just to mention only 2 of them, Cyrus Haghjoo and Gerhard "redcloud" Wieland.

Both of them they are former gold smiths what can be seen in the fine details of their more than accurate work. Both of them do forge their knives.
(Guess Cyrus is a member here as well!?)
One example of his work:

Just placed an order with Gerhard Wieland for a semi integral fixed blade. ;)

Did I mention already they are VERY nice guys!? :D

Not really knowing any makers for the most part, I can only mention makers who I've met in person and talked with and seen their work.

Mace Vitale JS ( www.laurelrockforge.com ) I like his style with the thick spines and elegant handles. He's a very helpfull person, and seeing and handling a lot of his work at local shows and hammerins has given me a greater appreciation for the subtle aspects of knife design and construction.

George Dailey ( www.georgedailey.com ) Some of the most gorgeous folders and such that I could never afford, yet a very soft spoken, knowledgeable, and wicked friendly person. Increadibly modest too.

Thank you Justin, for the warm remarks about both of these fine makers. George Dailey is not exactly a household name to most, but is in the upper eschelons of folder collecters. Still, he is exactly as you describe and I am honored to know him as a friend.

You won't meet a finer man than Mace Vitale, and his work is being shown often around here... ;)

My two cents worth; I find Chris Brookshear as fine a bladsmith as any I own. I also like Audra Draper's work, she's not too hard to look at eather

Wiscowboy,
Don't know much about Chris Brookshear so thanks, but I thought Audra Draper was pretty well known.

I'd like to add Chris Moss.
