Who likes Chinese???

I actually kinda prefer buying the overseas knives compared to US made ones. Customs aside, I feel like you get WAY better value from buying overseas. If you compare let's say a Spiderco or Benchmade to a Kizer at around 150 bucks, you're typically getting more for your money. Titanium handles vs G10 and FRN, S35VN vs S30V etc. I get that if you buy American you're supporting the home team, but I hate knowing that I could get a "better" product for the same amount of money.

I feel like I picked this view up from buying instruments. Manufacturing technology is so good right now that you really have to go out of your way to find a really bad product from any country (in a decent price point of course). A cheap knife is a cheap knife, no matter where it is made, and same goes with quality pieces. I just can't get over the fact that people put down products just because they aren't made here, but they are typing it on something made overseas. The world is so connected now that I really feel no need to judge based on where something was made.
S35VN isn't better than S30V. They're basically the same price and the S30V costs more to machine. They should be nearly indistinguishable in use.

In regards to the soulessness of some knives I can't say if it the the designer or the manufacturer that is leading to the loss of soul I suspect there is manufacturer input and revisions to bring a design into a production system.

For the record, when you buy an item from China, you are giving them US dollars, those dollars aren't necessarily exchanged for the Chinese equivalent. In fact, much of the US dollars sent to China come back to the US in the form of bonds being purchased by Chinese companies to finance US activities.

*The CRKT 6513- built so cheap that Sanrenmu makes their Sebenza clones look expensive in comparison...designed by Chris Reeve.Chris Reeve was so full of himself and didn't want a similar looking knife performing as good as any framelock so he had CRKT build the entire knife (framelock included) out of zytel...what a douchebag.Thankfully this knife isn't a coveted user among CRKT's older line-up.
Chris Reeve didn’t allow those to be sold so you’re basically comparing one clone(Sanrenmu) to another knife that has possibly been cloned(CRKT 6513).
A few of those CRKT’s may have made it to out there, but not many.

Calling a man that has revolutionized the knife industry by inventing the Integral Lock and accumulated over 25 awards a douchebag, is quite foolish and douchy on your part.

Read more, post less.

I wish I could like this twice.

Not to be a jerk as there's nothing wrong with preferring USA if your logic makes sense.Only problem I see with your boys there...they've done some overseas work...

As previously mentioned the CRKT Sebenza was a prototype, that when given to Chris Reeve he scrapped the collaboration because it did not meet his standards/expectations. Even if it had made it to production, it would have been with his consent so it would not have been a clone, it would have simply been the CRKT Sebenza. Calling one of the greatest innovators in the knife industry a douchebag in this context is ignorant.
