Who likes credit card knives?

This thread has got me thinking ... you could hide a longer knife in a checkbook than in a credit card wallet ... that way you have room for at least a little handle on it....

JSP Bladerigger has a rig called "Checkbook Alpha"(i think) that hides a longer blade in a checkbook.

I have some sketches of a few check book knife designs. I haven`t figured out how to retain them in a check book and keep them readily available though. Maybe after the Credit Card Knives are up and running I`ll look into it some more. Both types are creative solutions to some ticklish knife carrying problems but they can`t be the last word, who has any other ideas for concealed carry knives? I`m all ears. Marcus

like keys, on a keychain. don't need to fold, but you need to see how to kep htme from cutting you. little blade covers?

rings, with discreet little blades that could be attached.

someway to hook things on shoes would be cool. you need to watch you don't cut yourself, but imagine a standard foot trap or such, only with little blades on your shoes.

something that can hide behind flat sections of a belt, or waistband, thin enough to pass a frisk. maybe under a belt buckle?

small disc, with a hole through part, sharpened on one side. like a quarter. could either pinch grip them, or put your finger through. now THAT is something i would LOVE to have. with a bunch of change, in a wallet, or whatever, would look like a coin. didn't some knifemaker's wife in South africa use to do something similar, with litle leather sheaths, called them "thumb knives"? i don't believe the intent was defensive use.

glue on sharpened steel fingernails? maybe that's pushing the limit, but could be a cool option for some of the ladies. i've been bugged by a certain female to try to make some out of G-10 or carbon fiber before.

I often carry a notebook sized portfolio/folder to business meetings etc. I think something of this size would have many hidden carry options. A thin fixed blade knife without bulky handles combined with zippered spine pouch would be great.

I've seen the Thumb Knives at "Beck's Cutlery" It was Peter Bauchop's wife. If they aren't for defensive use, then I'm not sure what you use them for.
Have you seen the Utility Key from Swiss-Tech?? It looks just like a key, but does have a small blade. I got one for christmas and it has been very handy.

yeah, that was it. Karen Bauchop.

i guess maybe they were for defensive use. just kinda seemed more like a cute toy more than a barebones hide-out piece. maybe the sheath or something.

does the Utilikey has enough strength to take a few "oomphs" before giving? i looked at them a while back, thought they would be just the kinda thing for airports and such.

Back in the late 70's, Dick Atkinson used to make a flexible "hat band" knife. Spyderco Ladybug can go just about anywhere. Just about any type of jewelry can be custom made to harbor sharp. Pencils, pens and lipstick.

Need to remember, many of this "hidden" items would be considered ill eagle if accidently discovered. Small would be easier to explain.

Good points as usual Sal. However so long a said hidden sharp things aren`t being discovered in a restricted area of some kind it`s really no different than a Spydie Ladybug concealed in a pocket. Of course some will want to take this type of knife where sickly birds of prey dwell

and that`s their call. Oh,and Switch check your e mail. Marcus

Quick update. The CC knives are done at the waterjet cutters. Due to a recent family tragedy my life and I are a mess right now but I should have business straightened out in a few days then I`ll get right on em. Marcus
