Who Likes Fishing?

I used to like to fish. I don't do it much anymore.

My Brother in Law is addicted to fishing. As my sister says:

"give a man a fish and he eats for a day. teach a man to fish and he's never around when there are chores to do"

"Give a man a fish and he eats for a day"
"Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat all day and drink beer"

the most relevant version of the quote IMOP I have the shirt!!

pretty lucky where I live, salmon and steelhead in late summer/fall.
Big trout/lakers up north in the spring ,summer and fall until the lakes freeze (then ice fishing)
Searun cutthroat winter and spring in the rivers.
Salmon/rockfish in the ocean 12 months a year
Good rainbow fishing 9 to 10 months a year in local lower elevation lakes.

grew up pike/walleye/perch fishing in the prairies but when we moved to BC I fell into the flyfishing addiction 25 yrs ago.

2 spring salmon 22 and 28lbs this year, 40 or so pink salmon and probably 100 lake trout with 2 around 10lbs, 40 or so rainbows(4lb biggest) and 5 kokanee(2.5lb biggest). 2009 was a pretty good fishing year.

I had to let all the lakers go but as of dec 9 2009 they changed the reg's on Bridge Lake where my property up north is. I can now retain 1 lake trout per day and that is AWESOME, they had a 5 year ban to help the stocks, they get over 30lbs there.

90% of my lakers and trout this year were all on woolly buggers and leeches.

oh I almost forgot I had my honeymoon in Dominican Republic in November, chartered a boat and caught a 40lb sailfish and a small barracuda!!!! Did not get a marlin or wahoo but out of 7 boats that day 8 fish were caught including my 2. There was a big raincloud following us trolling and put the bite off.

I live in the land of 10,000 lakes, of course I love fishing! I can't say I have too much gear though. In fact, I don't have a rod, reel, or tackle. My dad is fixing up a boat though. I caught my first walleye last summer (just moved here last june, TX/AZ for last 7 years).

This summer will be different. My goal is to catch a few northerns and a muskie.

i've fly fished for close to twenty years now, nothing better then a good sized brooky on a nice 5 weight. and my girlfriend just got a sage vantage 9' 4 peice 5 weight, with a lamson 2.0.needless to say i am still enjoying brownie points :)

Well my wife buys me a fishing license for Christmas every year. People say that's all? In disbelief. Well what they don't understand is, that is a weekend pass. It gives me a break and her one to. Sometimes I take the kids, and sometimes It's just Me and the Fellas. Been married 15 years so something is working. Yeah It's definitely the Fishing. Hahaha. I fish the Ca. Delta, Sac. Feather, Klamath, Rivers. Also fish Half Moon Bay, Pacifica, Monterey Bay, Ect. Even go to Oregon with my uncle. Good stuff.

It's not just about the rods and reels. It's also about the kayaks. :D
