Who makes a good girl knife

If youre looking to get her to start carrying knives, get her one of those miniature swiss army type knives; preferably one with scissors, girls love scissors.

That's how o got mine to start carrying and since she already had something little that she found herself using all the time, the next step up was an Opinel 9 in carbon :)

I dunno if they are good for self defense, but Spyderco Tattoo series are nice looking. Ladybug, Dragonfly, and Cricket I believe.

You could have a custom Griptilian made from Benchmades website, hot pink and black

Ruger makes some nice defensive options,

Never bring a knife to a gunfight. For defense, much easier to train to use a gun than a knife.

Also just as with firearms, before a knife can be recommended one should know for what tasks the knife will truly be used.

"Girl" knives should not be limited to knives that cater to stereotypes. A great folder for a woman need not be limited to something small, pink, or covered in sparkles. Get her the best knife you can afford for her intended use, period.

Depending on your wife's EDC needs and budget, it's difficult to beat the CRK Sebenza 21 (small or large), BM 940, BM 710, Spyderco PM2, SAK Pioneer, and Cold Steel Voyager in terms of sheer cutting performance, lock strength, and easy carrying. Almost any modern folder serves a self-defense role if forced into that use, but it should not be relied on as a primary defensive tool. Consider getting her a strong OC product (Fox Labs/ASP) for defense.

My wife carries a pink ruger lcr in .38 special, a microtech halo, and a small can of wasp spray (much better range than pepper spray)

My wife EDC's on her body a pink dragonfly and purse carries a (highly moddified by me) purple delica 4. After being so impressed with my mini-grip (and ordering a factory customized full size for myself) I'll probabily order her a customize grip of some sort for her upcoming b-day/Xmas.

Before I got my wife a Pink knive she would not carry one, even other "pretty" colors (tried blue and yellow), even in her purse, and not just a knife either, since putting together a pink one she now EDC's a small medical kit as well. The ONLY piece of gear she will daily carry that's not pink is a couple spare mags for my G29 (she doesn't have a CCP but with 10mm being so hard to randomly find should I need it) she decided a few years ago she would keep 2 10rd mags in her purse, even when were not together she still has them.

The problem I see with "girl knives" or knives to be used or carried by women is that most women I know don't consistantly have a place to put the knife for easy access. One day they wear jeans. Next day its shorts, next day a dress.... So it continues to be a chore to find it and use it. It's easier for them to just ask you whom she knows always has a knife in their pocket.

My wife asked to keep my Vic Alox Classic for her use. But lord knows where it is now after only a couple months. Tis the problem.... too much clutter and junk carried routinely.

My wife isnt much into carring a gun for protection but always grabs a knife of mine when she feels she needs one. Does anyone make a nice "girl" looking knife? Feel like she might carry one more if it was more girly.

Whatever it is that she likes would be the one to get..... ;)

Other than that it's all opinions....

My GF bought a pink Mini Grip and carries it in her purse every day.

She wanted a rainbow Leek at first but didn't like the action and preferred the axis lock.

I actually asked mine this morning which one of my knives she took. The answer "Umm I don't know the silver one with the black on the handle and the neat blade" Wow I later realized she took my Kershaw Groove. So goes to show sometimes they stray off the norm
