Who makes a good M1A?

I have had my loaded model (springfield) for about 10 years and it shoots great and has never jammed. I wish I could say that for my ar's....... The loaded model only cost a little more than the basic. Its still in your price range and I think the upgrade is worth a little extra.

Have you looked into the fnar. In 308. It is built around a beefed up bar action comes, in a 16 or 20" barrel, will take 5 or 20 round mags, one can put a stock from a browning short track on if they want to make it look less tactical, and it is sub 1 moa. The down side is availability of parts, modification, and the mags are expensive
