Who Ordered a Small Insingo?

What sold out, in less than four days, were the first fifty numbered ones. Don't worry, there will be more.

I just received my Insingo. WOW! I'm loving it. I got #48, and it was born on May 13, 2010--just 12 days ago! It's noticeably lighter than the large, which of course, it should be. But I guess I'm just used to the weight of the large 21.

I hadn't had the Insingo for much more than an hour when I did something stupid with it! Let's see if I can explain this... I have a habit of opening and closing knives with one hand without looking at the knife-- just to get the feel of the knife. So, I was doing that with the Insingo. I pushed the lock bar with my thumb, released the open blade, and quickly moved my thumb out of the way as I started the blade closed with my forefinger. Zing! I saw a piece of skin fly past my nose! I looked at my thumb and there was a small, shiny divot above the nail, but no blood. I had cut through all but the last couple layers of skin. Lucky! Son, that thing is SHARP! It's odd because I usually wait at least two hours into owning a new knife before I do something stupid ;)

Yeah, these things were screaming sharp out of the box.

Tell me about it... is it just me or is this Insingo sharper out of the box than normal sebbies?

This thing is like a straight edge.

They do come shaving sharp out of the box. Which brings me to a good point of how i dont want to use mine because i will never be able to sharpen it like the factory again. Ive tryed the sharpmaker before and i couldnt get it like factory.

Odd all my CRK came shaving sharp but nothing to "WOW" about. I guess I'm still partial to Spyderco out of the box sharpness. :p

However, the grinds on the Insingo are perfect and can be touched up on the Sharpmaker at either 30 or 40 settings. My other 2 small sebenzas had to be reprofiled on the Edgepro before I could match them on the SM.

But then again, any new knife I get I have to sharpen and take apart so I can get a feel for them. The insingo is now up to what I consider sharp and can whittle hair. (After hitting the SM ultra fine rods and a loaded CrO stropp)

BTW it seems like the insingo has broken in and is almost glass buttery smooth! I can't wait to see how it feels at the end of the week! :D

You guys are killing me. I am still waiting for my Insingo (large) to arrive all the way down here and hearing how great the small is makes me long for it that much more!

#12. I really wanted the 11, but 12 was good. It's smaller than I'm used to so I don't EDC it. I've a large lefty insingo (I think the oldest on earth) that it spends time with. I've spent the last 2 months with a lochsa in my left pocket and a unique sebenza from knifeart in my right. For some reason, they just don't want to leave.

Glad I'm not the only one that this has happened to. I've had 2 Spydercos, Para-military in d2 and ZDP Lum that came hair whittling sharp out of the box.

Either way, its not a big issue at all since I sharpen them myself. :D

heads up non-numbered small insingos are in stock...

Got one this time! Huge thanks to Greaves for the heads up and to lunde for the suggestions to ensure that the notification makes it through to my inbox instead of the spam folder this time.

You're welcome, bud.

Sorry again that I backed out of our initial deal. You'll know why when you get yours! :)

Really glad you were able to get one so soon.

I have No. 19 of the small insigno, but I haven't edced it yet. I am torn between just keeping it as a safe queen and using it. I usually edc my small polished blade regular sebbie. Have others wrestled with this dilemma?

You should really use it.

1) You will love the new blade profile. I find new uses for the "sharpened swedge" every day.
2) To me, mine is the smoothest out of all my Sebenza and it has only been carried for a few weeks.
3) You paid a $30 premium to bet your #19. USE IT!
4) You can always send it back to the factory and its basically "new" again.
5) USE IT USE IT USE IT!
6) Repeat #5 until you use it.
