I don't regularly carry one, but I do on occasion. The main blade is fairly thick and the secondaries thin. Feels great in hand though. It works fine for me but I don't ask for too much with a pocket knife like this. Does just fine with apples and boxes.Does any one around here regularly carry a seahorse whittler? I don’t whittle but I thought it looked like a pretty handy knife for general use and was considering ordering the amber bone with carbon steel. I looked back through 40 pages on this thread and didn’t see any but thought I’d check to see if anyone had thoughts on it for every day use.

Thanks for the reply and the pictures. That is a hefty main blade! I still haven’t decided if I need one or not.

The top one is my grandfather’s which he purchased just before I was born according to my dad. Putting it around 1960. I noticed the PU stockman is very similar with same shield, clip profile & nail nick location. The bottom HP stockman (below pic) must be older with larger shield, different clip profile, & nail nick location. Subtle differences. Probably expected since this stamp spanned 24 years.
