Hello guys, I hope that some of you have not heard this information and that I am not being repetitious. But Benchmade is coming out with some new products, (I will probably not be getting a ton of them) but, I thought I would share it just in case you guys are interested and don't know about them:

I know that this will be a highlight for many people, they are making an Axis Lock AFCK with a D2 steel blade, mini versions of the 550 and 551, and limited editions of the 850 and 690 and with "White Bonded Ivory" handles, a 180 with Oak handles and a tan leather sheath and a gut or rescue hook knife. I know that there is more, but these are some of what I remember and liked.

Any idea when? I have heard about the others, but not the Axis AFCK.

This is a quote from 5280 on the Benchmade forum,
"Bonded ivory is commonly used for custom handgun grips. Here are a couple of definitions:

Bonded Ivory was developed as an economical genuine Ivory substitute. This epoxy, filled with natural materials, works and polishes, as well as looks like real Ivory. With age, it develops a yellowish patina which makes it indistinguishable from the more expensive and fragile real thing. Bonded Ivory is durable and tough for heavy use and long life. - Excalibur Grips

Bonded Ivory commonly know as "Polymer", Looks and Feels like Ivory at a fraction of the Cost. - Ajax Grips

As far as I know, (and if I am recalling calling correctly) the Axis AFCKs in D2, should be shipping the End of November (beginning of December) to dealers!!!

Hope that helps,

I hope you are right. That would indeed make my day! It would undoubtedly be my EDC. Also be a nice Christmas present to myself. That would make up for Spyderco discontinuing the Wegner!

Hard to believe we are just now hearing about it. Benchmade is really good about keeping things secret till the last minute.

Any guesses on the mythical axis AFCK's blade hole? My guess: Spyderco licensed the round hole for the original AFCK only, any change in the design constitutes a new knife, and Spyderco will not re-license the round hole. Ergo, oval hole Axis AFCK. 'course, I didn't quite believe it the 10 previous times I heard about this thing, so I'll again wait until I see one to believe it :)

Hmmm the Axis AFCK myth rages on and on and on...

1st unlikely thing is BM using D2 steel, somehow I just don't think so... :(

I will definately get one.

I am sorry for having my doubts. It is just too good to be true. I think I feel a new EDC coming on. This definitely makes up for Spyderco discontinuing the Wegner.

Currently in my possession is one of the prototypes of the Model 806 Axis Lock AFCK! The folks at Benchmade have loaned me one of the prototypes for an early review of sorts. I got the knife in a few days ago and will be throwing up some scans in the next day or two followed by a detailed review in the coming weeks.

I too am very happy to see this come down the pipe. Ever since 1999 I have been desperately craving for this knife :) Finally, it is a reality!!

Also, I remember Mike Turber posting on the Benchmade Forum one time something to the effect that there is no way that Benchmade will ever come out with an Axis AFCK. Les de Asis will be frying up that fat crow for ya, Mike ;) :D

The scans will go up in the What's New forum.

The funny thing is that you guys did not believe me, and just this last weekend, I was looking at the info. from BM and the order slip. :(

Oh well, also, I was unaware of the satin blade ... well see about them. Now lets see if some of you can wait a month (at least for black blades)...?

I am glad that I helped some of you out and made some dreams happy. Got to love not being the last to know, even if no one believes you.

Lol! If I seemed a little...cynical it is because I was informed months ago about this knife and it was then denied by BM, they blamed it on a sales rep speaking out of terms! Thus when yet another claim went out I figured...right:rolleyes: , esp when you consider BM don't as a rule use D2! However what a knife, I will have to get one of these, even if it does not have the proper Spyderhole!:(

Ah well, can't have everything in life.

Are they going to have a satin blade as an option or only black coated? I hope they keep a satin blade option.
