Who wants an Axis AFCK and other new BMs?

Are they going to have a satin blade as an option or only black coated? I hope they keep a satin blade option.

AFAIK satin is one of the choices in finishes.

i want it so much it hurts. Is this going to be a limmited edition or will there be plenty to go around?

Not to worry, this is going to be a regular addition to the line and not limited in any way :)

Nope, not limited, oh wait Dexter beat me to it. That's ok...

The info that I received from BM only said that Black blades will be made, but who knows, cause this contradicts their web site. I hope that they do make satin blades, Dex is probably correct. :)

This very well could be the closest to perection a production folder can get. :D

A classic design and the axis lock.

Travis from Benchmade just emailed me. Said he was incorrect and that they will only be offered in BT2.

Oh well, so much for the perfect folder. Not in so big a hurry to get one now.

Say what? I'm gonna ring him up and give him a good ol' Southern style chewin' out :D :( I don't know why. Bob Dozier uses D2 and his blades are satin finished, so it may not be a corrosion/stain issue  All I can say is I hope they have improved their BT2. I'm not a real big fan of the stuff...

Its about damn time!
Now whose head do I gotta hold a gun to so we can get rid of that damn hole.

Now waiting for the mini.

Dexter:
Looking forward to seeing your review of this knife in one of the mags! :)

As far as the BT2 or satin finish, I'm sure if enough people raise a fuss, BM will probably start offering it in satin as well...remember, at first I think they were not even considering the Axis AFCK and here it is. BTW, it's a beautiful knife...

My search for the perfect folder may well be coming to it's end!:D:D:D

BTW, glad I got a Wegner when I did! WHEW!!

BMs BT2 is the worst coating in the industry, why don't they come into the 21st century and at least use black ti boride. D2 is a great steel, if heat treated properly and with very minimum maintenance have never had a rust problem with it. My current EDC is a custom slipjoint has a D2 blade, wicked sharp and holds it longer than anything else without a spot of rust.

Thanks....but the review isn't going to the mags :) It'll be posted here at BF and at the BM Forum!

Are the mini 550 and 551 listed on Benchmade's site yet? Not to take any thunder away from the Axis Afck (I just hope they make a mini version!), but if the mini-griptilions are not tooooo mini (ie: less than 3 inch blade) I would love to have one. Sooo, are there any specs on these listed yet?

Why is Boron Carbide not offered rather than BT2?

Or hard Chrome it?

I don't know, they listen at last and STILL can't get it right:mad:

Perhaps they will offer a directors cut, limited pre production run numbered special edition in a satin or other option:rolleyes: Probably with Carbon Fibre handles and costing more than $200.

As to which knife is better than this? The Sebi of course.

I still want to see an M2 with B/Carbide coating model.;)

I agree over the SpyderHole (tm) it really does need this feature.

I just don't like the look of the Rugby ball hole as much. If you are going to do it, then do it for real!:p Then again, I always look at what I want rather than what is practical, at least we have the Axis AFCK... at last.

Thank you BM for giving us this knife very nice of you.:D ! Just change a few details and it will be perfect.

I've been a huge critic of the Axis lock because of the lack of availability of omega springs and Benchmade's inane warranty policy. The 770, 730CFHS, and the new Axis AFCK are really making me rethink my stance. I've had no spring failures (knock on wood) on my 770 and 730CFHS. I WILL have an Axis AFCK, although I agree that the oval hole is less desirable than the round hole. Will these be tip down carry only?

I don't know if the mini 550 and 551 are on the web site yet, they look like nice sizes though. Either 85% the size of the original or they are $85, I can't remember which one, but I think both (85% and MSRP or $85). I will try to double check, you can email me if you would like.

Thanks mmtmatrix, I appreciate the answer. If you don't mind me asking, where did you find out about them? 'Cause I checked Benchmade's website and they are not listed there yet. Like I said in my other post, if they don't scale them down too far, I will be putting my name down for a mini-551!!
