I am a Wharncliff fan myself so I am all for the idea. I think Wharns are best when they are long and pointy. Stubby points on them and they might as well be sheepsfoot blades.
I also made my Special edition PE Rescue into a pointy Wharncliff blade. I would also like to see a flat ground version with a Wave. Keep the handle just as it is and give it a new blade and you will have a real winner there.
