Trevor..., there is a magazine published here in GA. called Boar Hunter. I don't know if it's available in your area, but you should check it out. Let me know if you can't find it, and I will send you a couple of issues. There are dozens of East coast guided and unguided hog hunts advertised in every issue including several that SPECIALIZE in primitive weapon kills (knife, spear, or bow). Some in Florida will take you in by swamp buggy or airboat. The trained dogs (usually leopard cur or pit) will bay and catch the hog, and you will move in for the kill stroke. Two friends and I are very interested in a Florida hog hunt, and I also have a big S&W John Ross edition .500 that I would like to use on a trophy boar. How's that sound to ya'll???
species prefered?
How about a bear!![]()
I think that'll only work if you put the shotgun barrel in the bears mouth first!
Hey Bawana do you need a gun barer.![]()
T..., I'll pick up a current issue of Boar Hunter tomorrow, and send it to you. Let me know if you put together a GA or FL trip. Thanks.
Heck Doug,
I've never hunted bears, but the way they shoot em over bait around 25 yards with muzzleloaders, I would think although I am not 100% a 3" slug at that range would have similar effect:thumbup:
Yes T, slugs and blackbears would probably work. They've got some well made slugs these days. I was'nt sure what type bear you were refering too though.![]()
Wish I could go.... Bagged a 10 pt buck 2 years ago ;-)
Deer Camp HOG's, let's GO!
Also, if you have knives I might buy em so you can go![]()
I want INFI zwickee 100gr screwed to some carbon!
Make it happen.
Sounds like one of them freak things that could appear at KC
Just in time:thumbup:![]()
