Who would you trust to sharpen your Customs?

I've seen a guy at the local show sharpening but I want to KNOW for sure the guy is gonna do an EXCELLENT job and stand behind his work before I let him have a whack at a $500+ knife. I don't think I'd get that from the guy there. YMMV

Don't do it, man!!!!!! A number of years ago, I had some redneck at a show decide that a couple of my big knives were sharpened too "thin" and needed a more durable "working edge".....so he proceeded to whack off the convex edge on my Sean McWilliams fighter:grumpy: If you are going to use a service, find out who sharpens the knives for the most expensive restaurants in your area. You have a better chance of getting a quality job done using one of those guys than somebody at a gun show.

I just bought a knife that I really like. I bought it from a previous owner and can't go back to the maker (he's deceased). Nothing wrong with the sharpness, but the very point of the tip is missing (maybe about 1-2 mm).

Do the gents listed in this thread for sharpening also fix a tip or do I need to look for someone else?

Thanks,
Thor

Hey Thor! Mike and Manuela Here. If you would like, I'll be more than glad to take care of it for you.

Hello Mike,

Thanks so much for the offer, that's really kind. The person I bought it from actually has someone who can fix it and so I am returning it to sender.

Thanks and take care,
Thor
