Yeah.. what a bummer...:( the misses and I were just talking about this earlier today...:thumbdn: oh well.. we're still going... i hope all the rest of you folks will still be going as well....:o

we're probably leaving really early on Friday morning, we should be getting there around 10 a.m. or so...
 
I shall be there thats for sure. We would just need to make a bigger fire dont me boys.. Went to buy some ammo.. They have ZERO 22lr, 357 or 38.... That sucks big time... Im going to try another place tomorow after work..

Weather Channel is showing 30% chance of scattered showers, so I'm not too worried about getting drowned.

Sasha---Big 5 usually has .22 ammo in decent supply. Turner's had pretty empty shelves last time I stopped by. A Walmart somewhere like Bakersfield might have at least a few boxes of some calibers.

I'll be bringing a few hundred rounds of .22, and my son told me today that he wants to come, so that means the shotgun and some clays are coming too. I just wish I had a bunch of .45 so we could go to town with that, too.
 
DWK i went to big 5 and they are empty on everything i stoped at another place dont remember the name and they empty... i got some .45 maybe half a box... See what else i got as well. There is one other place in Culver City im going to check but they are more expensive.

You're probably thinking of Martin B. Wretching (Retting). I'm no fan of that place either.

I'm still planning to leave tomorrow but in view of the weather, I think I'll leave the mountain bike home.

Since you mentioned you have a bit of .45 ammo, I'll bring a Colt Gold Cup 1911 that you're welcome to run it through.

DWK yea that is the place. Everything is overpriced there. I got some old .223 ammo if i can just find it. maybe 20 410 shells and a bunch of 12g bird shots. I have then all in a box which i think i know where it is but not sure lol.. So if anyone has .223 and wants to shoot. Most of the ammo was givin to me in a box by an old guy a while ago.

It's overpriced but they make up for it by being unpleasant to customers.....:rolleyes:

When i went to check out .22 the lowest priced one they had was at around $1,500. But yes they are nice and not pushy.

is there any way one of you guys can pick a fire permit, from a rangers office?? i don't think we'll even be going near one...
 
So... Looks like we will only be coming out on Saturday. I have an Aunt that lives in Fresno that we don't see much, so we are going to stay at there place Fri. and Saturday night.

Sorry not everyone can come.... But no worry we would have enough fun for everyone. Couldnt get any .22 which i think is just stupid. Does anyone have a 20g shootgun? Then bring it in as well.. Also got some for a 28g and lots of .223. All packed up and ready to go.. Who ever get there first dont forget to hang something at the turn off. All excited as i sure could use the time away from everything. Mike i think DWK2 said he would pick up a fire permit. Norcal i got extra batteries for my camera we shall post so many pics that everyone would get tired from looking. Rksoon if not this time then the next one for sure we should hide a cache. Didnt think of getting anything ready to hide. Well see ya boys and girls out there..

right on Sasha... :thumbup: we plan on being on the road by 5 a.m.... we'll see you up there man.. we sould be there around 11 or so... if all goes well with my car, it's making some crazy noise, as long as we get there and back, i'll be happy.. i couldn't get it to the mechanics today...:(
i'll be bring my 12 gauge and a few boxes of target/bird load, as well as some 00 buckshot.... we're all bringing our longbows too...:)
 
I'll be bringing my .22, 12 gauge, and .40. But, I only have ammunition for the .22, but bringing the others in case someone has ammo and wants to shoot them. Ammunition is almost impossible to find right now!

Oh yeah, and the bow, and my 3 arrows.
