  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Who's looking forward to winter?

Me! I HATE summer. Bring on the cooooooold. I live in Atlanta, it's hell here in the summer. It wasn't too bad this summer, fairly mild, but I've been miserable. I'm very sensitive to heat due to a medication I'm on, and heat is torture for me. I sweat like a fat mobster in a sauna if it's over 76 degrees or so.

Bring on the ice- bring on the snow. Bring on the cool coats with lots of pockets and snuggling with the wife at night to keep warm. I lived in Iowa for 8 years- it gets nice and cool there in the winter. Atlanta's all right- it'll be in the 60s from October until April or so.

moonwilson,
i live in dacula & feel your pain.
summer is the worst.
i cant wait for the first frost!

cheers

Thanks for posing that. Makes me a bit misty. Johny Horton, what a tragic lose to country music or all music for that matter.

I want more summer. I wasted some of this one. Didn't get out spearfishing nearly enough. Of course, our winters aren't too rough anyway.

Bring it on:thumbup: The colder the better IMHO.I hate the heat and bugs of summer.

There's something primal about stepping outdoors and feeling that cold blast of fresh air and minus 40 temps. Actually slept in a snow trench(with a winter bag and proper ground insulation) at -50 C and was snug as a bug.

In the winter you can always stay warm by layering properly, whereas in the heat of summer you can only take off all your clothes and I'm still sweating my ass off...no air conditioning sucks:grumpy:

I am not a huge fan of winter. But I am relishing this fall, warm days cool nights. The smell of the leaves in the woods. I love this time of year.

Winter flat out sucks...at least in MI. Fall is my favorite of all though.

I'm with you on fall being the best, but I can't help not liking spring. All humid and wet.

If it's cold and stays frozen instead of turning into slush winter is my second favorite season.

I love it too.
The nights will plummet down to a frigid 58 degrees:eek:.;)
The days will be a brisk 74 with no, or very little, rain ...so I plant beans and corn.

I look forward to fall and early winter, but not the real cold and icy. I live in Ky and we were struck by the severe ice storm. No lights and no heat for about 10 days. One of my wife's family told if this should happen again this year, then he was going to come and get the 3 of us and the cat and the guinea pig and take us all to his house which is about 1 hour away.:D

I Like's it!
