Thinking of changing it up and carrying something like an izula for edc. Anyone else gone this route? If so, what are you carrying and how?

I switched to fixed blade, then switched back, then back again, and again. Dunno how many cycles it was, but now I just grab whatever I feel like that day and stopped trying to be a "this" or "that" guy. It was an internal struggle, I won, and I lost. :D

I've carried and continue to carry either an Izula, Izula II, Candiru, and occasionally an ESEE 3 on fixed blade days.

I carry either a small fixed or a one-handed slip joint due to laws over here.
Favourites are Kershaw 1080, DPX HEST or TR10S. Also have a BK14, but the handle is kinda small, I oughta make some handles for it.
I carry 4 or 5 o'clock on my belt, next to the Leatherman and flashlight.

Lately I have carried an Esee izula and a Daniel Fairly knives Ti backpacker. I carry in the pocket on a static cord. Draw and sheath stays looped to my belt.

Switched a while back. I carried an Izula for about two years, I loved it they make such good EDC blades. I finally wound up getting a custom-made piece in Elmax and a Scandi grind though, so I put the Izula in the glove-box of my car to always have it there instead. Funny thing is, even with just the simple 1095, I still get tempted to start carrying it daily over the elmax.

I also like to carry a small folder though, something like a slipjoint or a traditional. Reason being is that it gives me those very thin slicy blades that I like, and also a more people-friendly appearance.

I've got a razor sharp BK-14 on my hip atm. I also added a ferro rod holder to the sheath for her pleasure. Love using a fixed blade for day-to-day duties.

I carry both a fixed blade and a folder. I carry my Izula on my belt and a folder in my pocket. The way I carry the Izula, you don't even notice its there and no one else does either :D Its somewhat hard to tell but the first inch of the sheath is over my belt buckle. I also drilled two holes on either side of the slot that is on top of the sheath so it is easy to run the paracord thru it like this.

1 of my 4 EDC's is a fixed blade. Cross draw at 11 o'clock.

Always have to have 1 fixed blade on me.

I also switched to a small FB for simplicity and ease of use/maintenance. I've tried several but settled on a BRKT Essential for most days and a Northstar EDC for the other days. either one of the works equally well in a belt sheath or pocket sheath. For belt carry, I carry at 10:00 for RH crossdraw.

I still carry a small folder for times/places where I'm likely to be overlooked. Most often these days it's a small plain Sebenza. Never had an objection to that one no matter where I've used it.

That's usually where I carry my fixed blades. Sometimes small of the back and sometimes vertical on my side.

Pocket carry with a small fixed blade is pretty darn sweet. Got to have the right sheath and or clip attachment to make it work though.

The BHK Bushbaby lately. I don't carry a knife usually in my pocket or waist, but in my bag. The bushbaby however went to my coat pocket.

Now this is really nice! I'm going to try this.

I usually only carry outboard fixed when I have a shirt tail I can leave out. When I do, it's horizontal like spyder, and I alternate between my BK-11 san mai, BK-14 and HEST II.

I've thought about it.
I much prefer the better ergo's and more choice of high carbon steels...

My biggest issue is I carry a folder 24/7, with no isssues.

Not sure a fixed, even a small one, would be comfortable, or would pass the 'what other people think your intentions are' test.....
Actually, looking at the pic above, it wouldn't.

I've gone to the fixed blade, plus a folder. It was like an awakening. I don't know why it took so long for me to grasp that there are so few disadvantages to carrying a fixed blade, that it is the way to go. It sounds a little strange, but I feel better prepared with a fixed blade in combo with a folder.

Depending on the day's activities, I have a couple that go in the right front pocket in their kydex:

I have an Izula but I don't carry it much because I can't find a good sheath that is affordable and doesn't take weeks or months to get.

I will have to try your technique. I tried a similar one without drilling the holes and it moved around too much.

Does yours stay in place?
