who's made the switch to fixed blade for edc???

I work in an office every day, and when I'm out in public, I'm pretty sure a belt-mounted fixed blade would attract attention from authorities, so I just carry multiple folders myself. I just can't see a need or use for a fixed blade in my daily life.

I carry a small fixed blade almost everyday and after trying every way imaginable to carry on my belt I always come back to just looping paracord through my belt and letting it hang upright in my pocket.
This is my most carried fixed blade.

And this is it in pocket.

Not I, it's just impractical for me. Don't want to scare the urban sheeple either.

I also believe in discrete carry so as not to alarm folks. Izula 2 in pocket here. Ironicly, the little Izula is smaller than many of my folders.

The odd time I carry a fixed blade for EDC, it's usually my Becker BK-11 in a custom leather sheath or my ESEE Izula 2 in the stock sheath. Both carried horizontally on my belt at 11 o'clock (just behind the first belt loop.) I find it comfortable and when the knife has to come off, I don't have to completely remove my belt.

Started carrying a few small fixed blades, like very small.

This one is about 4.5 inches overall, titanium with carbidized edge, less than half an ounce. Wear it horizontally on the belt and it disappears.

I carry both a small fixed blade and a folder. I usually carry one small fixed blade in my rear pocket and a folder in front left. Sometimes I carry the fixed blade in a pocket sheath in my front right pocket and a folder in a side cargo pocket. Below is an older pic just after wrapping the knife. Since then I've cut the danglies

I carry a fixed everyday along with a folder.

On the belt or in my pocket. Works for me.

I made the switch from folding to fixed blades last year, literally the day I could get away with it.

I then realized that fixed blades are nice, but not all they're cracked up to be for smaller tasks. Then I started carrying both fixed and folding blade knives.

I would if it was legal to carry one concealed in my state. Sometimes I still do, worn at about 11 o'clock. Folders mostly for me though for legality.

I've carried a pair of fixed blades (Kabar 1232s) at 3 and 9, with a pair of Buck folders (482s or 484s) clipped in my front pockets for years (the 48Xs replaced my 110s/112s in the EDC lineup when the BuckLite Maxs came out due to weight). Sometimes you need a knife on the right and sometimes on the left, so I carry both types on both sides. With a BK11 thrown in for good measure.

That KSF leather rig the SA and the small fixed blade looked very nice, would be interested in how to get one. I already carry my SA and some sort of small fixed blade, that would be a great carry for one pocket or for belt.

i'm really liking this. any info on this sheath? thanks.

Sure. It's a KSF Pocono pocket sheath with a little trim work to make getting the Candiru out easier. Still fits the Izula II, which is what I bought it for, and I'll carry that instead of the Candiru every now and then.

Most people use the second pocket for a small AAA single cell flashlight, but I've carried the same Surefire E1B for years which doesn't fit, so I put a Alox Cadet in it since I carry that religiously anyway.
