Who's Waiting On A Knife?

I am waiting for 3 customs , from 3 different makers. Ones should arrive this week, the others will take awhile since I placed the orders quite recently and they are still in the design stage.

I am not renowned for may patience--I purely hate waiting. But if someone is making you something special, there is no way to hurry it up--If it didn't take so much time and talent, I wouldn't have to order it from someone else,

My custom-designed Anza took five days. :p Give them a try when you get tired of waiting.

DGG:

That basic pattern is pretty popular. I only hunt hogs and small game. Hogs have been pretty scarce the 2 times I've been out this year, so the Gent's Hunter will probably get broken in on a rabbit.

Just received my Charles May today:eek: , My tear drop (Chiro75) from RITT
showed up Thursday:D and now I am waiting for one from IVAN CAMPOS:yawn:
maybe sometime this week:confused: also placed an order for a Queen, and kissing
crane....waiting is not fun at all:mad:

I got that wonderful email today, it's ready. And a picture, too.

UPDATE:

Two eBay Bruckmanns arrived today. One is the imitation peachseed bone discussed earlier. The handle appears to be bone, jigged and dyed, or it could be plastic. I'll have to take a closer look at work this week. Although the knife has never been used or sharpened, it has been around for a long time. I doubt it's one of the warehouse finds from the 1980s - 1990s.

The other Bruckmann is a beautiful wooden-handled knife with a corkscrew and nickel-silver (?) bolsters. The fit and finish is perfect. This one is likely a warehouse find, not in circulation for very long.

The Bark River Tanto I ordered was actually sold already, so after a few e-mails back and forth to clarify exactly which ones are available, I settled on the amboynia without turquois. It's being shipped today.

Hope you all get what you ordered soon,
Bob

I'm ordering a Spyderfly tomorrow unless someone can point me to a good dealer not too far from Waco...I like to see the knife first...
House of Blades in Fort Worth is about as close as to you as it gets as far as any real knife store I can think of.

Hello All,

Just joined up. 1st post. Bought a SOG Flash I and liked the assisted opening so much I've got a Twitch XL in Black TiNi coming from New Grahm. It's due on Friday! :D

Thanks Brian, but I've already ordered the knife. It's Spyderco, so I'm not too concerned about QC...if it were anything other than Spyderco or Benchmade.... It's coming in Friday, but it's going to Elizabeth's place and she'll be out of town for the weekend meaning I'll have to wait till saturday night to get it. Augh. I don't know how you folks wait for customs. I can't handle this week long wait for my bali.

Hehe, same dilema here.

I dont know how you guys can wait so long, the mentioned delay of customs makes me cringe thinking , It's just sitting there.

I ordered a new BM 707 night before last, hoping it makes it here by end of next week.(So it can be EDC no 1, Joining 2 an maybe 3)

If I was planning on using one of those $15.00 khuks I'd be worried about it breaking on me. If you're looking for a good price on great khuks, check out HI's sales on the HI forum. Yangdu regularly lists 'blems' (usually very little wrong with them, and still better made than most khuks out there) that sell for amazing prices. You'll only enjoy saving $50.00 on a lesser knife until the first time you get cut when a cheap khuk's blade snaps. And HI is the most honourable and trusting company I know. They always have the khuk in the mail to me before they've even received my payment. Buy it right the first time.

I'm currently waiting on a Matt Cucchiara Poncho. I ordered it last year, and it's ready already! Matt's got my M.O. and no doubt has the knife in the mail by now. This is the worst part... knowing it's on the way but having no idea how long it'll take to arrive. The suspense is killing me! :)

Thanks Chris....i do realize that, and now i'm getting pissed at the fact that after 2 followup emails by myself, and a phone call (long distance)to SarcoINCwhich never went through, i have yet to get a reply......so i am now cancelling my order, and credit card, just to ensure nothing gets charged to it....

I have decided to wait until August, so i can save a bit more money and order the Khukri i want (British Army issue or the Ang Ghola) from Yangdu. Thanks Chris, i appreciate the info greatly!

BTW...i am waiting for the smaller BUSHMAN by Cold Steel from KNIFEZONE.ca up here in Canuckville. I love these knives!!!!

Been waiting on a set almost identical to this pair from Steve Sando (but with a bigger Santoku in S30V) for quite a while now. I was aware of the wait though, so I'm content and the anticipation will make getting them that much more sweet. Sometimes I think the waiting for knives is a big part of the fun...

I'm not waiting on anything at the moment, except for some passarounds :( . I am bidding on some stuff on eBay, but you know how that goes. I am going to buy a Nimravus Cub before the month is up, either here or on eBay. A friend told me about a knife shop near Salisbury, I'll be going down to Ocean City :barf: to spend time with the family, and I'll have the dog with me, so thats probably not going to pan out, as I'll be babysitting most of the week. I am currently bidding on a Case stockman, a Schrade small stockman and a Flash I. Nothing in trades or buys yet.
