Why all the Busse Hate?

As a fan of Ka-Bar/Becker I certainly wouldn't compare any of their blades to Busse in anything but general usage concepts; they are in different leagues in most other categories. I'm sure there's some sticker shock that can turn into jealous hatred for Busse when people find out some of the prices, when a knife is un-affordable one tends to come up with excuses as to why they didn't want it in the first place.

Ultimately, it's Youtube: there is no rational thought or logic on that site, especially in the comment sections.

You tell em King!
Seriously, I do think that is part of it, or much of it...
But, you put it down in www ink, much more eloquently than I would have!
I forget I'm not on the bus at times, lol!

Now that YouTube is deleting all of their gun related how to videos, I'm about done with them as well. Err

Serious?
Not that I watch very much...
But this PC world is stuff I can't say here...
Soon, BF's will be the only place on the www that I don't ignore...
Have a great weekend all y'all!

I need to replace the mainspring in my SIG P6/225. If they deleted the "how to" videos, I will be displeased. But them, I've been displeased with pretty much everything huge tech companies have been doing lately. They've abused their monopoly power enough to overcome my innate libertarian sensibilities to the point where I'd welcome government regulation. How big an a--hole do you have to be for that? Quit being evil, Google.

Gott Im Himmel! $15 for my ASH1’s. I might need counseling.

Honestly i think it all just stems from ignorance and misunderstanding.
I'd say a fair few people who make those comments are more budget level knife enthusiasts. Nothing wrong with that but it generally means they are lacking experience and understanding of steels and design meaning they just dont properly appreciate just how big the gap is between top brands like busse and then brands like cold steel that still produce some great blades but of a different standard.
Also, the whole line of "sharpened pry bar" and everything about busse knives having obtuse bevels is purely just them not thinking. They dont get that firstly, if the angle doesnt suit the user's exact purpose it can be shaped to their need. The whole you can take away but you cant put back idea really comes into play there. Secondly, its busse combat for gods sake, a lot of these knives are combat and field orientated where the ideology is you want a robust edge that will keep functioning for the user even after being pushed into a needed role that a knife would not be considered the optimal tool for.
I mean sure, a wicked hollow grind is going to do well on a fighter but then the other line of thought is, the fella wont exactly be poking a stick at your obtuse bevel when he's got 7 inches of steel in his chest.

Ignorance is bliss.......

With respect, bliss is bliss..........ignorance is stupidity!:D

That’s just how people are. Doesn’t matter if it is high end knives, custom guns (I recently bought a Wilson Combat and got the “I could buy 4 glocks for what that cost”), to cars. Doesn’t really matter what it is. Yea a Honda Civic will get me from point a to b, but my Scat Pack Challenger does it faster and in style

Absolutely correct. Often it just comes down to what people can afford and how they justify it in their own minds. i.e. I can't afford a NMFBM so no-one should have one.

Kroger just pulled all the magazines with AR etc. pictures in them from their stores.. Sad days I spend 30 minutes a month standing in their magazine section reading.
I'm pissed!

Because pulling magazines with pictures of fast cars will stop speeding????!!
You have to wonder how detached from reality some so called "intelligent" people are:thumbsdown::poop:

Gratuitous Busse Pic...............

Drivers drive. Farmers farm. Builders build. Hatters hate. That’s why! ;):D

ETA generally in all areas in life, you still get what you pay for. The last 10% often costs 80% of the dough.

Try not to be confused by folks who say they don't like pork when they have yet to have their first taste of bacon!!!:eek:o_O:confused:

. . . Of course, there will be those who don't like bacon even after they try it . . . These folks deeply confuse me :confused:o_O. . . because bacon is delicious!!!!:cool:

Let's drink!

People will always do whatever it takes to justify their purchase decision.
there are those that buy the cheapest they can find, use it and throw it away to get another. They love to brag about how much money they save and they hate on people who do not do the same because that threatens their ego at the thought that someone may have a better idea.

There are those who like to buy the best that they can afford. These people shock the first group especially in this case because a busse can cost as much as 50x more than the knife they use. in their minds this is just silly. To the people who come here spending more for a knife that will never let you down is the obvious choice. The discrepancy is just the fact that it costs a lot of money to get a little better. Is a Ferrari 10 times faster than my Mustang GT? It costs 10x more. No but it is faster and getting that higher level of performance requires more engineering, better/ more costly materials and the desire/ ability to purchase it.

Me personally it is worth more to get the best. I know if I purchase a becker or Esee it will probably serve me just fine for many years/ decades to come. My thought is if I am in a situation where I really need a knife to perform I do not want one that will probably do the job. I need one that WILL do the job. Just like I cannot imagine why someone would buy a cheap gun.

Good thoughts above. Even my best friend can see paying $400 for a eight inch piece of used INFI but thinks I might the be a candidate for a mental institution if I pay the same amount for a Sebenza.

I tell my kids that the internet is one of the best, and worst things in the world. I literally learned to make a knife and kydex sheathes solely off YouTube. I could also go find a video of a blind 12 year old playing Stairway to Heaven, and some A-hole will be in the comment section saying “not even that good” “he totally messed up that part, lame”. It’s a whole new world we have to teach them to navigate.

I had a buddy I used to hang out with and we got to talking about our knives. He was so impressed with his Paratrooper knife and I pulled out one of mine and we got into the they do the same thing mine just does it for cheaper.

So I mentioned better steel, etc. so to prove his point he sets up a piece of plywood for us to throw at. He threw first then me. Just so happened the edge of mine cut a chunk out of the edge of his. When we pulled em out mine had no damage and still shaved.

He didn’t have much to say after that about my more expensive bladez

People hate when they don’t know or can’t afford. I remember scoffing at a game warden about 10 years ago. I was buying 30$ knives.

In general with everything going on - the inter webs give a voice to all, so it may seem there is pro this anti this - in reality very small amount. With 300 million there are quite a few busse haters, anti Americans, anti beef, flat earthers and just about everything thing else you can think of.

For &@#% sakes teens are eating tide pods. So what does that tell you about the internet and it’s views !
