Why are blades rarely slicey?

It wasn't.
Now it is.

I've actually found Kizer to be moderately consistent on making good cutters, aside from their rather high factory edge angles. With a reprofile I haven't had any Kizer other than their super old models they had the controversy with Britton over cut poorly with a proper edge.

Granted, I don't own a great deal of Kizer knives. For a while I was pretty lukewarm on S35VN, and mainly go for lefty friendly knives, and Kizer has very few that tick both boxes. Now I just don't have many opportunities to buy lefty friendly Kizer knives because I mostly only buy used, and they seem to have a high retention rate.

I got my Rectifier today. Hoo boy it is nice, thin, and slicey. Not quite SAK thin, but it makes a Delica feel a little pudgy. Super thin stock and a super deep hollow grind. Didn't have time to clean it or sharpen it today, so I didn't carry it to work, but I definitely will Monday.

Yeah I was pretty amazed at how thin the grind is on that one. I have the Wisp and it's a nice thin grind on thin stock. Looks to be the same with the Vapor.
Props to WE for making those knives.

The original blade was not really bad, especially after reprofiling the edge as you mentioned.
But I really think this small blade should be hollow ground to a thin edge.
Please @Kizer Cutlery!

Yeah, some of the WE knives including Rectifer look nice.
Boker Exskelibur is a really good slicer.
Hope to see more of these kinds across different manufacturers.
