Why are modern daggers made from stainless steel?

.... and sometimes when I am feeling medieval,at the dinner table I'll cut slabs of my steak with it and poke it, then eat it.

Now THATs bad ass!

I have no use for a dagger, at all. Well, I should say that for finishing off big fish while spearfishing they do come handy. That's about the only situation I might find one appropiate. For my needs, again.

I think most daggers are stainless steel today because non-knife people are more likely to buy one in stainless. It is probably because of the exposure to all the blood and guts that most daggers get exposed to. Hence, any intelligent person would choose stainless for their dagger.... (a..ah... letter opener).;)

I don't have much use for a dagger. But I was surely tempted to buy the EK made by Kabar when it was introduced since I think Ek knives are kind of cool. 1095, I believe too and non-stainless.

I have the EK 13 by Kabar the stainless steel version it’s beautiful but the guard came pretty loose when I got it, still it’s a looker.
