Why Can't i bee a fan like the rest of the knife planet?.. This is why! ->

One big thing to put my thoughts in perspective,
i don't Cary the knife outside (not legal here),
so mainly collect them, and enjoy flip & play with them.
i don't think im the only one that does that.

if i would have used it as an EDC knife. i guess my spydi hole issue would have bean far
less critical & important, although it's still not working for me as all my other knifes.
idk if that's my finger, or im over expecting it to flick without wrist action.

PS. domino looks like a very interesting for me, i may just give it a chance
but first i got 4 other knifes pre-ordered (CS with XHP)
it will wait for next time.

2. to much of a Porsche!
same knife same design to little changes
and the same mold with not enough visual innovation.
(yes a big change in that subject is finally visible in 2015)
Personally, I'd say not enough Porsche and far too much John Deere. :D

But yes, these five look so much alike I always have a hard time telling which is which... ;)

If you honestly showed up for a discussion read the portion in blue if your here to troll read the portion in red.
I'm in no way a Spyderco fanboy and some of the points your brought up are valid but it's far outweighed by the misleading points. The back-lock and FRN issues are simple, Spyderco has about a thousand models between current production, sprint run, and discontinued that they have to be doing something right, along with the fact that they're considered one of the major knife companies for work and EDC. Try out some different models if you don't like them they have a pretty good turn around for re-sale or trade. Also I don't know of a company that will send you an integral part of the knife through the mail. The most I've ever heard of is screws, clips, and springs, not any actual parts because they don't want people out there getting factory parts just to flip on eBay.
So you just showed up to complain to people who have real world experience using these knives about all the flipping you do indoors? Also your video illustrates that you don't have a very solid understanding of how to open a knife with a spyderhole or your intentionally not putting any effort into it for a good video the spyderhole is primarily designed for stress opening. It works with gloves and as I have always been taught with guns and any weapon or tool big movement, use big muscles/more contact. The hole provides a more secure opening than a thumbstud or flipper any day of the week and a flipper makes you change your grip for opening much as you complained about for the closing of a back-lock.

something wrong w/John Deere?

To the OP:

I have one Spyderco, and it took me about 8 months to choose my EDC knife. I looked, asked, searched, peeked, and then decided that the Dragonfly was what I wanted to carry w/me for the next several years. I love the hole, but hate the way the FRN looks, so I picked the Nishijin scales. for what this knife cost, I could have picked any number of other knives, but this one meets my every want.

I'm sure all of us could pick a brand to pick apart, and others would come to the brand's defense, but if you don't like Spyderco, move along to something you do like. No need to waste your time on things you don't like.

My last job required me to break down hundreds of boxes, and open all sorts of things. I hesitantly bought a Delica 4, and quickly fell in love with it. I was unsure of all the things you mentioned in your original post, however, I quickly realized my erroneous mentality.

Here's my Delica. With a little practice it's really easy to use.

I played with an Endura at a store recently, and I had no problem snapping it open. Try putting your thumb nail into the hole, and holding the handle a little further down towards the butt of the knife. You're intent is to 'flick' your thumb with a little authority. Once you get that part, you won't even need any wrist action. I was in your position once, and it is frustrating watching others flick their knives so effortlessly.

Hi Panta, watched your video. Try putting your thumbnail in the hole with your thumb "cocked"...as if you were preparing to shoot a marble. Then just flick straight forward (not out) as if you are shooting that marble and the knife will fire open. Lockbacks are not the fastest opening knives in the spyderco lineup but if you do it the way I described they will fire open with authority and you can flick to your hearts content.

Fwiw, I usually almost never flick my knives open anymore and have come to enjoy the feel of just smoothly and efficiently pushing the blade open with the spyderhole. Take a bit of time to learn to use the hole properly. Once you get it you will scoff at thumb studs. :)

^ Too quick for me! :D

Look at how my thumb is inside the hole, and the angle of my thumb. You want to leverage your thumb and 'snap' it upwards, not outwards. Sometimes if I don't lower my grip on the handle, I won't get enough leverage to snap it open.

If you'd spent half as much time researching Spyderco's variety, as you did writing that whine of a post, you'd have realized you got it 95% wrong. Keep trying.

OP, I completely support your right to have an opinion and even to share it here...

But you are so wrong.

I'd tell you why, but it's not worth my time. :)

What's so great about Spyderco is the variety they provide in all their designs. The list of complaints you had, I immediately though PM2 would solve just about everything, or a Manix, Domino, Southard, I could go on. And I like the Porsche comparison, my Uncle in law works for Porsche in Germany.

the Domino looks very nice and im happy to see it has a steel insert.
but it'll be to big of a chance for 200$ for my thumb.
my conclusion is i just can't give up on studs,
they just work perfectly for me with all knifes.

the one thing i do love about spyderco the best
is the blade & the way they do it, very thin very nice.
and ive Sean the new "cobra hood" on the rescue series
maybe will work better for me then deployment holes.

Yah, that working fine for you.
this spyderco was my first knife, and i can't seam to enjoy it,
it just not working with my hand.
(i can blade pinch open, that works.)

i need stick whit studs, a flipper as a secondary method add-on is nice,
but i think my thumb have spoken clearly, deployment holes not working with my fingers.
thanks for the upload.

i did try as you suggested but no change.
