Well, I'm a little surprised I have to explain this, but here goes:
My dad stuck his weiner in my mom and shot out some baby batter.
The swimmer met the egg, and WHAM-O!
A little over 9 months later there I was...
Thanks Bill B!!! Actually they are quite proud I didn't slouch and end up on the half-ass-$hit-head bench... They still have a picture of the first time the principal declared me a full-fledged ass hat. A proud moment for sure.
There sure is a load of hypocracy in this thread. I fully agree with lots of posts... Bill B's, Burch's, TikTock, GL Drew... crap I can't even remember them all.
Bottom line, IMHO, is that nobody knows FOR 100% SURE what happens when you die until the moment you kick the proverbial bucket.
The best you can do is live your life as the best person you can, treat others as you wish to be treated (unless they prove they don't deserve that) and figure that whatever happens afterward will be judged by you living that good life... and, if $hit happens and we do just turn into worm food, enjoy that you lived your life on this planet as one of the good ones.
To answer your earlier question Dan, I feel it's quite simple that one can be spiritual, but not religious... meaning they have their beliefs/views/feelings, but don't feel they have to go to Sunday church or the bake sale to confirm them or share them with others. To each his own...
That's as preachy, religious, or political as you'll ever find me getting
