Why do I need an 0200?

^^
thanks A6! you know i keep googling pictures of the 200. there's just something mean and 'tactical' about it, compared with more flattish and angular blade-handle designs. plus there's the price advantage. it looks like a zt will bump off my long-time field dream: a custom buck 110 with CPM154 blade. prices are similar too!

the 200 still remains my favorite and most used "big" folder to use, and i got a couple strider SMF's to choose from also (as well as a 500 and 550)...i cut, pierce and pry with it as needed (as i will do with any 3.5"+ folders) and the 200's black coating still looks good...like that it has that big bolt to tighten up the play too; because i usually have a wrench on hand...

In order of comfort fit in my hand, it would have to be the 200, 300 and 350. It may not be a great analogy, but for me, using the 200 is like using a big 22oz framing hammer. It has weight, good balance, and I feel confident that it's gonna do the job at hand. :D

I'm pretty confident you will be happy with it. It is a beast of a folder but feels so good in the hand.

The 0200 was my first ZT. I got it for the textured and thick grip. It is really excellent. I've only touched it up using a steel so far and I've used it for over a year as my EDC.

Point of fact is, given your other ZT's, that you don't need a 0200 but it seems pretty clear that you want one.

Go for it.

Mine lives in my bug out bag as an awesome go-to back-up folder.

It's more comfortable in hand than the 560 (don't have the 550, can't speak for it). Its fit & finish is actually BETTER than that of the 560. All surfaces flush, no imperfect line-ups with the scales & frame. It's a noticably thicker, heavier knife. The 560 is like a gent's folder next to it. I think they complement each other well.

As Murky Depth said, it's more comfortable in-hand than the 560. While the 560 affords a very good grip and nice ergos, the 0200 has a more hand-filling handle.

Yup, just wanted something different for my 0200. Several other knives are out getting worked on too, some are surprises. Can't wait to get em back.

The 0200 is my current favorite EDC folder. It locks up rock solid, it's easy to strop back to hair popping sharp, it feels great in my large hands and it rides nice and low with the clip.

The 200 was the knife that introduced me to ZT. A coworker was carrying one & let me check it out. I started lurking on here, then finally made a post to buy a 301. I guess I should get one too, huh?

I sharpen my recurved blades with a sharpmaker. It makes it super quick and easy. I also highly recommend the 200. Its a beast and it feels amazing in the hand.

Love that modified deep-carry clip on the 0200. Who/where did you get that from?

Just a follow up.

Today is the 11th day I've been carrying the 0200 and I couldn't be happier. Probably the best $100 I've spent on a knife to date. Thanks to all and to ZT for another great blade.

I've been staring at the Knife Works exclusive 0200 for quite some time now.

There's some things that really excite me about the knife, and others that I'm having apprehension about due to past experiences with similar designs. Not a fan of flippers or thumb studs AT ALL. As much as love grippy G10 knife handles, the 3D texturing is a concern (I had a Benchmade Conspiracy for a short time that used/lifted/stole a very similar pattern). Recurves are usually a no-go, but I've softened on that over the years as I've learned how to sharpen them properly. It actually fits the knife's aesthetics very well.....

Everything else about the knife is spot on: huge chunk of 154CM steel, great looking handle ergonomics, and very stout liner lock. The current going price seems like a steal for the amount of knife you're getting.

Someone post a pic of the 0200KW so I can make up my mind!! ;)

Love the straightened blade on the 0200! I've been thinking about doing something similar to mine, but have no idea as to how to go about getting it done. Any tips, ideas, or advice on who'd do it for me so I don't screw it up?? lol

i have owned a couple 0560's, i still have a 0350 and a 300. and wow. the 0300 will be next to sell after the 0200 showed up. i can honestly say out of the crks, striders, microtechs, along with many other mid-techs this is a under appreciated knife. the handle fits my large hands great. the steel 154 is a personal preference of mine over elmax or 3v or s30v/s35vn. I really cant put my finger on it honestly but its a knife i am over happy with, and its one great value. i picket it up for 117 shipped with free overnight delivery from a large company. i couldnt be happier with it

I made a few, mostly for my Spydercos (Paramilitary 2's and GB), and found that with a little tweaking the screw holes would fit my ZTs as well. The ones for my Spydercos were longer past the holes though (fits the 0400 fine), so I bent this one much closer since the clip holes on the 0200 are much closer to the end of the handle.

I originally wanted Tom Krein to do a regrind similar to the pics we've seen floating around of his work, but he isn't doing any regrinds as of late. I sent this to richardj to see what he could do about getting rid of the recurve, and I think he did a great job with keeping the DLC. He's great at answering emails and prefers to make phone calls, and his turnaround time is quick!
